Sins of the Father (It's Complicated #5)(36)
Author: Maggie Cole

I shimmy down him until I’m on my knees and slowly lick the base of his cock.

He groans and weaves his fingers in my hair.

I tease him with my tongue and suck on his tip a few times. His fingers dig harder, but he doesn’t push me down.

“Control me how you want,” I demand.

“What?” he pants.

I place my hands over his. “I want to feel how much you want me. Don’t hold back.”

“You’re killing me, Harper,” he mumbles.

I slide his cock in my mouth, taking him in inch by inch, opening my throat to accept him, then grazing my teeth on his shaft on the way up. I squeeze his hands again and lock eyes with him. “Show me.”

He repositions his hands and slowly begins to control my speed. When I think he’s about to burst, he pushes me off him and drags me up on his lap.

His fingers slide over my panties, and he grunts. “Crotchless... Jesus, Harper.”

I slide onto him, moaning as he fills me, inhaling his skin.

“Shh. You have to be quiet here,” he quietly growls and sucks on my earlobe while circling my earring with his tongue. “I’ll make you scream later tonight.”

I shiver as his fingers slide up and down my spine. “I’m sorry about yesterday.”

“Shh.”

“Thank you for—”

“Shh.” He kisses me as if I’m the beginning and end of his existence. And I want to be.

A cloud moves in the sky, and the sunlight shines through the glass, adding to our heat.

“This is the best workday ever,” he murmurs, moving the little fabric covering my nipples with his lips and tugging at them with his teeth.

I whimper and circle my hips harder on his erection, sinking deeper, and gripping it tighter with my spasming walls. “Steven.”

He holds his hand over my mouth, bites on my collarbone, and moves his hand to my clit, circling me fast.

My cries become louder, and he grasps my hair and firmly holds my head while ravishing my mouth with his tongue and lips.

Adrenaline courses through me, and I become a rag doll in his arms. He erupts, his cock swells, and he pumps his hot seed into me.

Our faces are buried in the other’s neck when my alarm rings.

“What’s that?” he murmurs.

I grab my phone and hit the snooze. “Ten-minute warning.”

He grins. “Did you just schedule our sex?”

“Yep. Any complaints?”

He chuckles. “Nope.”

I reach for my purse and pull out the baby wipes.

“Please tell me Hope isn’t outside my office door?”

“No. Anna is at Jamison’s.”

“Good. What’s up with the wipes?”

I bat my eyes. “I need to make sure my man is meeting-ready. I’m sure the lipstick look might cause some questions.” I wipe his neck and face where I stained it.

“You’re officially the coolest woman ever.”

I slide up, clean myself up with another tissue, then clean him up as well.

“Are you cleaning my dick right now?”

“Yep.”

He chuckles. “Have you thought of everything?”

I peck him on the lips then rise from his lap. “Maybe. Time to pull your pants up. Chop, chop,” I tease, clapping my hands.

He stands and secures his pants, and I hold out his suit jacket. He slides his arms in, and I go to the front of him and straighten his tie.

He puts his arms around me. “Harper.”

I look up. “Hmm?”

“It’s good to have you back. I don’t like to see you upset.”

“I have you to thank for that, don’t I?”

“Mmm, can you say that after this visit?”

I laugh then seriously say, “Thank you. What you did was beyond generous.”

He strokes my cheek. “Next time you have a problem, why don’t you tell me, and we can see if we can figure it out together.”

My flutters take off again. “Okay.”

He smiles, and the alarm rings again. “Five-minute warning.” I pull my makeup and mirror out of my purse, quickly fix my face, then throw them back in my bag.

“You’re incredible,” he brags.

I lock my hands behind his head. “No, you are.”

We kiss again, and I slap his ass. “Okay, off to your meeting. You don’t want to be late.”

“I’ll walk you to the elevator.” He puts his hand on my back and leads me out of his office. We pass Shira’s desk.

“Good seeing you again, Harper. Will you be at the charity event with Steven tomorrow night?”

“What event?” Steven asks.

“It was added this morning. Mr. Dudmeyer sent an email about the governor’s campaign ball tomorrow night.”

Steven groans. “I’m not—”

“He said it’s nonnegotiable and will see you there.”

Steven freezes.

“Well, should I tell him you need two tickets or one?” Shira asks.

Steven shakes his head and glances at the ceiling.

I squeeze his hand and tell Shira, “Tell Mr. Dudmeyer he needs two tickets.”

She smiles. “Will do.”

Steven walks me to the elevator. “Harper, I don’t want you to be anywhere around that man.”

“You’d rather go yourself?”

“I don’t want to go at all.”

“So you do or don’t want me to go with you?”

“I always want you with me.”

I step into the elevator. “Okay. I’ll see you tonight, and you can fill me in on the details.”

The doors start to shut, and he puts his hand in the middle, and they open back up. “Hey.”

“Yeah?”

“Thanks for stopping by.”

“My pleasure, Mr. Sinclair.”

Steven

What is Dudmeyer up to?

As soon as my two o’clock meeting is over, I go to his office.

“Steven, what can I do for you?”

“Craig, I’m not going tomorrow night. Find someone else to take my place.” For years, I’ve had to deal with their friendship. Every time Maximillion has a fundraiser or sinks his teeth into a cause, which is only if there is something in it for him, Dudmeyer requires me to be there. I’ve always gone and played the dutiful employee, not wanting to piss off the boss, while avoiding any interaction with Maximillion or my mother. She is always there playing her assistant role, and watching her run around, making things happen for him only scrapes my wound deeper.

Dudmeyer taps his fingertips together. “You’re a VP in the company, and our entire executive team will be there. The governor has passed many laws to help our bottom line, and we’re all going to support him and show our gratitude. Bring your checkbook.”

There’s no way I’m writing a check for the sperm donor’s campaign.

“I have no interest—”

“You have no interest in supporting the man who helped you get this job? Is there a specific reason you are suddenly opposed to supporting him?”

I’ve never supported him.

You always did whatever you were told to do.
