Ethan (Confessions #7)(16)
Author: Ella Frank

Oh God, what the hell am I doing?

She made sure the contract was tucked into her purse nice and tight, then headed toward the front door. She knocked and waited, expecting one of the staff members to let her in. But when the lock turned and the black door pulled open, a devilish smile greeted her and told her that everything about tonight was going to be different—starting right now.

“Evenin’, Red.”

SWEET JESUS, CHLOÉ had come to play tonight, that was for damn sure, judging by the knockout dress she’d poured herself into.

The siren-red silk playing peekaboo from behind black lace made Zayne’s cock jerk the second he saw her. He did his best to roll his tongue back into his mouth, though, and quickly reminded himself that steps had to be taken, rules had to be read, before he could do anything other than look at her.

“Hi,” Chloé said, a surprised expression crossing her beautiful face. “I’m sorry, I wasn’t expecting you to answer the door.”

“Why not? It’s my place.” He stepped aside, and as she brushed by him, he caught the scent of her perfume and took a deep inhale. It was sweet but kind of spicy, just like she was.

“That’s true,” she said, and if he wasn’t mistaken, there was a slight waver in her voice—she was nervous. “But I doubt you open the door for all of your…guests.” She paused and turned to face him. “Or do you call them ‘employees’? You know, to go with your theme?”

“It depends.” He grinned and looked past her shoulder to the front desk. “Take Lillian, for example—she’s just an employee, but one we value very highly.”

Chloé glanced over to where Lillian was shaking her head at him.

“You two have met, right? Or maybe that was your alias?”

Chloé’s head whipped back around, and she whispered, “Don’t say that.”

Zayne laughed. “Why not? She already knows.”

“Oh my God. I’m so sorry,” Chloé said over her shoulder, her cheeks flushing a tempting shade of pink, and Zayne could no longer resist. He reached out and trailed a finger down one of them.

“No need to be sorry. Lillian learned a valuable lesson that night: don’t get caught up by a pretty face.”

Chloé looked up at him from beneath her full lashes.

“And yours is very pretty. Lillian?” Zayne said without taking his eyes off hers. “We’re not to be disturbed tonight. Me or Ethan.”

“Understood, boss.”

“Right then, let’s go.”

Chloé’s eyes widened as he went to walk by her, and she reached out and took his arm.

“Something the matter?”

“What if someone needs you here?”

“Then they can need someone else. You sure you’re ready for this, little girl?”

He could see the nerves dancing in her eyes, but the second he said “little girl,” desire flickered.

Oh yeah, she likes that.

Chloé licked her lips and nodded. “I’m ready.”

In more ways than one, he was willing to bet. He would’ve laid down good money then that she was as wet as she was hesitant.

“Okay. But before we go any further, there’s something I need from you.”

Chloé frowned, and Zayne’s gaze traveled down to the folded piece of paper tucked in the side of her purse.

“Oh, of course.” She pulled it free and handed it over, and as he began to unfold it, she reached for his arm. “You’re going to read that here?”

“Is there a problem with that?”

Chloé aimed her eyes in Lillian’s direction, and he chuckled.

“You do know this is a sex club, right? That she works at a sex club.” He held the papers up. “This wouldn’t shock her, trust me. Lillian has seen, and done, more than anyone.”

“More than you?”

“Well, maybe not more than me, but definitely more than you.” He winked at her and then turned to one of the wall-size art pieces in the foyer. He placed his key card over part of the gilded frame and then pulled it open, revealing the hidden doorway. Zayne gestured for her to go ahead. “After you.”

She swallowed and looked back to the front door, and he wondered if this was where she would change her mind and run. But several seconds later, she turned back.

Just as she was about to pass him, he said in her ear, “Nothing is going to happen tonight that you don’t want. That’s what this is for.”

She looked at the papers and nodded. “I know. This just took me by surprise. I thought Ethan said we weren’t staying at the club.”

“We aren’t.” Zayne stepped into the hall behind her, and as the door slid shut, she turned to him with a frown. “This is our private residence.”

“Residence? As in…”

“Where we live.”

“Oh.” She laughed a little and shook her head.

“Weren’t expecting that?”

“Actually, the first time I came here I thought the place looked like a—” She paused for a second. “It doesn’t matter. You live above a sex club—somehow that makes sense.”

“We always thought so.” Zayne grinned and, now that they were behind closed doors, unfolded the papers. “Is it okay if I read this now?”

When she said nothing, just worried that bottom lip of hers, he scanned her responses and felt his cock begin to throb.

Fuck, they’d been right on the money about her. Chloé’s choices were definitely on the safe side, but that did nothing to lessen her appeal. She was a beautiful mix of nerves and fearlessness, and the idea of being her first kink experience made tonight that much more exciting.

When he spotted the crucial element—her signature at the bottom—he rolled up the papers and tucked them into the back of his jeans, and noticed her eyes roaming over his body.

Her lips were parted, her nipples hard against the soft silk of her dress. He walked forward, crowding her up against the wall, and placed a hand on either side of her head. “You know what you just gave me, right?”

Chloé sucked in a shaky breath, her breasts pushed up against that tight little dress, and Zayne had to have a taste.

“Permission,” he whispered across her glossy lips. “You just gave me permission to finally do this.”

He speared a hand into her hair and pulled her in close, and as he crushed his mouth down on top of hers, a needy moan filled the hall.

Jesus, she was sweet. Soft, hungry, and pliant. Chloé melted into him as he slid his tongue over her lower lip. She reached for his shirt, curling her fingers into the soft material, and as she arched her body up against his, it was all Zayne could do to not hike her dress up and take her right then.

But he couldn’t do that, not just yet. Someone else was waiting for them.

He pulled back, reluctantly letting her go, and had to turn away from the tempting picture she made.

“Let’s go.” He started off ahead of her. If he didn’t get them out of the narrow hallway, and fast, there’d be no telling what he’d do next. The sight of her standing there with her hair mussed, her lips swollen, and her eyes wide was a little more than he could take.
