Cold Heart(53)
Author: Ruby Wolff

"We have someone here, Aiden will find out if he is okay showing his face to you, are you happy showing yours?" I ask Rafe.

I want things to move quickly, and I'm not waiting for him to get in touch with his friend, when I know, I have members here right now that can get me everything I need.

I will use every member here if I need to, I'm getting my girl back, by hook or by crook.

I've lost count on how many times I've shouted for someone, banged on the door; there is nothing but walls around me, not even a window. When I first woke up, I thought Altas had kidnapped me again, but I didn't have to look around to know that it wasn’t Atlas. This room felt cold, shut off. Atlas put me in a bedroom- warm, cozy and inviting. Comfortable enough for me.

Once I finally got up, I saw that this wasn't even a room, it was a box. Four walls with hard cement floors, a mattress on the floor, and a mental chair in the corner, that’s it.

I look around the room, to see if there is a camera in here or something, but I don't see anything. Nothing but the walls.

The last thing I remember is heading back into the bar to talk to Atlas and tell him that I was going to see if we could make this work somehow. I thought maybe now that I know the truth he can be more relaxed around me and things might be different.

I never got the chance to tell him that, and I don't know if I will.

I don't even know who has kidnapped me.

I jump back as the door swings open to see a strange man walking towards me.

"Who are you?" I ask as I take another step back from him. The man stands there leaning against the wall, with a smirk on his face.

"You're going to make me a wealthy man," he says, rubbing his chin with his right hand with a sinister smile. "Atlas is willing to pay anything to get you back." My body flinches at hearing Atlas' name from his smug mouth. He doesn’t look dangerous, but I suppose all the crazy ones look normal. "My name is Dean, and he took away the one thing I enjoyed, he took away the club from me. Now I'm about to take away what he loves most in the world," Dean tells me. Inside my head, I'm laughing.

I believe that Atlas will give him the money, but he’s fucking crazy if he thinks he is getting what he wants without a fight, or if he will walk away alive, there is no chance that Atlas is going to let him walk away from this.

I watch Dean as he stands there looking at me. If he wanted to hurt me, he would have done it. But he's not touched me, this is the first time he has been in the room with me. He’s doing all this for money, and to prove to Atlas that he beat him.

"Why did he kick you out of the club?" I ask, almost too scared to hear the answer.

"I lied, Atlas doesn't like liars. It was in the past, I changed since then, but he didn't listen to me. I loved going to the club, I never hurt the girls, I never broke the rules, but that didn't matter." Dean looks at his watch and taps it a few times. "I've been at that club for a while now, he disappeared for a while, never saw him around the club, and we all thought he left, but then he was back, and it was like a dead man was walking around." Dean walks closer to me. "Then something changed, I've been watching you all for a while now, and he looks at you differently, he looks at you like there is no one else in the world but you," Dean tells me standing only a few inches away from me. "For you, he will do whatever I say; if I want the club, I will get the club; if I want money, I will get the money. You mean more to him than anything else, and I'm going to get it." The words are so spiteful, full of anger, and hate. This man is fucking crazy, the look in his eyes is pure hate for Atlas. He wants to hurt Atlas, and doesn’t care what he has to do to do it.

If he knows that Atlas loves me, why isn't he hurting me to prove his point? If Atlas doesn’t give him what he needs, he will hurt me to prove his point.

This guy is a fucking psycho.

My back hits the wall when he takes another step closer to me. "I'm going to make sure that Atlas pays for taking the club from me, I've been thinking a lot about this, I'm going to make Atlas go crazy."

"What...what if he gives you the money?" I ask, my voice coming out a little shaky.

He starts laughing as he walks backwards out of the room. He didn't give me an answer, that can't mean anything good, can it? Is he waiting to kill me when he has the money? Is he going to get the money and leave me here?

The panic begins to boil up through my body, my knees start to go weak as I sit on the cold floor. Closing my eyes, my head falls against my knees, as I breathe trying hard to relax.

I know Atlas will find me, even if he gives him the money, Atlas will find me. He has to find me.

I hear the conversation between Rafe and Don about their findings at Dean’s place. I mean they know who took her, they know his fucking name, and yet they're standing in my office talking like a pair of fucking girls.

"Are we going to go out and find her, or do you two want me to bring some tea for you?" I stop them, as they’re just pissing me off now talking about the things they can do.

"We need to see where he could go," Don turns to me.

He joined about four months after Rafe, and I won't go into what fucked up things he likes, because for an FBI agent, even I was surprised. He has a long hard job and needs to be able to relax, and that's what my business is here for.

"You think sending someone that he-" I stop when Beth walks into the office.

"This came for you. The delivery man is in the waiting room. You might want to talk to him,” she looks over at Don and Rafe.

Don leaves the office, and I take the DVD from Beth and walk over to the deck.

"Atlas, maybe-"

I look at Aiden, and he stops, I know I've been a little on edge for the last two days, it’s only going to get worse for me unless I get Brooklyn back home.

I can't even remember when my head hit the pillow last, I've only left the office to shower, and that's only because Rhys told me to or he will throw a bucket of water over me.

I sit on the chair bracing myself for what is about to play in front of me. So many things are going through my head at the moment, and not one of it is a good thing.

"What were you looking for?" The man asks as I cough again the moment the steel rod hits my stomach. "Why were you coming for us?" He yells again.

I've been hanging upside down for a long time now, I can't remember how long, I don't even know what day of the week it is, or for how many days I've been here.

"Drop him!" The man shouts.

My head hits the floor hard, and I lie on the floor naked again. The scream escaping my mouth echoes through me as the ice-cold water hits my body from the hose. They've done this to me so many times now that I can't fight it anymore. My body is fully numb, but still, the pain runs through me like I'm about to die any moment now. And I still believe that death would be so much better than this.

"Atlas," I turn to Rhys as I come back to the reality. I give him a small nod letting him know that I'm here and hit play on the DVD.

"Atlas, you must be going crazy by now," Dean appears on the screen. I am holding the desk with a dead grip to stop myself from losing control. “I have to say Atlas, your girl isn’t showing any fear, but I can see she’s scared. Trying to figure out why I have her here.” Dean smiles, and my palms begin to hurt, my nails dig into them as I tighten my hands into fists. “I could say I’ve not touched her, I could say that I have touched her. I can say so many things to mess with your head, but letting you think of all the things I can do to her is so much more fun for me.” Dean stops talking, giving me a moment to have a quick glance at what I can find around him.
