Beautiful Deceit (Watch Me Burn #3)(41)
Author: R.E. Bond

I was grateful when he snuggled up on Rory’s other side and fell asleep without any more conversation.

I’d had enough chit chat for one fucking day.

Rory

Pounding on the door jolted me out of my sleep at daybreak, and a gasp left me as my body throbbed from the movement.

The bedside lamp flicked on, and I was surprised to see Hunter rubbing his eyes and swinging his legs out of bed.

Nearly naked, mind you.

“Go back to sleep, babe. I’ll check who’s here,” he mumbled in a rough sleepy voice.

I went to protest, but Skeeter’s arm tightened around me, keeping me in place as Hunter left the room.

He must have heard me suck in a sharp breath as his grip pressed into my bruises, because he loosened his hold instantly.

I flinched when I heard yelling downstairs, picking out Caden’s voice amongst the noise.

I made out some words like accident and hospital, so I knew they’d found out about what had happened to me.

Fuck.

Footsteps pounded up the hallway and the door swung open.

Caden and Tyler slipped into the room with Lukas and Jensen not far behind.

Hunter took up the rear, moving into the room and climbing back into bed with a yawn.

“See? She’s here, tucked up in bed like I fucking told you.”

Lukas looked like a fucking mess as panic strained his face, but Caden’s gaze was steady as he met my eyes.

“You okay?”

I nodded, trying not to wince as my body started throbbing.

“Just bruised to hell, nothing’s broken.”

“You want to tell me what the fuck happened before I lose my fucking shit?” He asked in a gentle tone, making me sigh.

He was worried, and I’d caused that.

I hated it.

“Sure. I’ll meet you in the kitchen, okay?” I asked as I tried to sit up properly without showing the pain on my face too much.

It hurt like absolute hell.

He gave me a satisfied nod, and I waited for them to leave the room before glancing at Skeeter.

“I can’t lie to them about what happened.”

“Don’t expect you to, baby girl. Just couldn’t have them at the hospital causing a scene,” he replied, and I instantly relaxed before carefully climbing over Hunter as I got out of bed.

He offered me his shirt, but I rolled my eyes.

“You guys have literally all seen me naked. Pretty sure my bra and panties won’t be a problem,” I joked, but he cringed, running his concerned eyes over my body.

“Yeah, but you’re black and blue, sweetheart. Might shock them a little.”

“If they get mad, I’ll come back to bed,” I muttered, padding down the hall until I reached the kitchen.

Caden’s blank expression was soon replaced by worry as I joined them, his hands hesitating before moving to rest on my waist as he inspected me.

“Jesus, baby. What happened? You crashed the Corvette?”

I met his eyes so he could see the whole truth as I spoke.

“I was attacked and rammed off the road. The Corvette’s totaled,” I explained, taking the weight off my sore leg.

Ah fuck, I forgot about my car.

I was going to kill those assholes for wrecking it.

Anger, fear, and affection crossed his face all in a matter of seconds before he stepped closer to me, his thumbs moving across my hips softly.

“Any idea who?”

I knew I might as well just come out and say it.

They’d freak out regardless.

“Skeet suspects the Soldiers, but we aren’t too sure. Both crews are looking into it,” I stated, and he surprisingly relaxed slightly, but the tension in the room could still fucking suffocate someone.

I glanced at Tyler, moving towards him and giving him a slight shove, despite pain shooting through me at the sudden jolt.

Now to deal with the other assholes.

“If you ever accuse Jense of hurting me again, I’ll kick you in the fucking balls too. You know he’s the least likely one out of any of you guys to fucking hurt me,” I snapped, fighting the urge to shove him again.

He seemed confused at my anger towards him.

“Why’d you kick him in the balls then?” He asked, flicking his gaze to Jensen.

“For being in my business. I love you, but you need to talk before you swing, okay?”

Jensen snorted, catching my attention.

“Says the girl who took off from school in the middle of the afternoon after swinging at two people.”

Argh, these guys and their little details.

“I was allowed to leave. I got suspended,” I argued, not that it was a good argument.

That would make it worse.

“I heard. For how long?” He frowned, and I gave him a little shrug.

I cringed at the sharp pain that shot through me again.

Fuck, my body hurt.

“A few days, but then I left before he was done talking and he made it a week I think. Guess I’ll find out when I get a letter in the post.”

His expression changed to protective in a flash.

“What happened to make you leave?” He demanded.

“Prying into my personal shit. Basically, not wanting me near the crews. Oh, he banned Slash from the premises too, so that went well,” I exclaimed with bite in my tone, his gaze softening on me.

He went to reach for me before changing his mind and dropping his hand, but I moved up to him and wrapped my arms around his middle.

I wasn’t still mad at him, so it was time to stop him stewing on it.

“I was pissed at you for taking shit into your own hands, but I don’t hate you for it, Jense. You know I hate being saved by people,” I mumbled, suddenly feeling like the biggest bitch alive.

He was only trying to protect me.

What was wrong with me?

He relaxed and kissed my forehead.

“I know, I just hate it when I can’t help you because you’re stubborn.”

Me? Stubborn?

Okay, I could be a little stubborn.

“I know. Sorry about the nut shot. That was low of me,” I winced, knowing it hurt him more than intended.

He grunted, a sly smirk spreading across his face.

“You want to kiss them better? I think I can forgive you if your lips are on them.”

“Drop your pants then,” I said in what I hoped was a seductive voice, tugging on his pants and watching confusion cross his face.

“I was joking, babe. You…”

“I’m not. Drop them, Jensen,” I cut in, backing him up until his back hit the wall.

I loved how his eyes darkened as I grabbed the top of his pants and pulled them down his legs.

I dropped to my knees in front of him and wrapped my hand around his length, hiding my discomfort as the gash on my side tugged against the stitches.

He was already hard, and for some reason that turned me the fuck on.

I was well aware of the other three watching us in silence, but I blocked them out as I kissed along Jensen’s length, my lips moving down to his balls where I gently sucked one into the wet heat of my mouth.

He groaned, his hand resting on top of my head as his fingers twitched, fighting the urge to get rough with me and jam his dick down my throat instead.

I heard Skeeter and Hunter enter the room as they halted in the doorway, Skeeter’s voice full of interest as he spoke.
