Beautiful Deceit (Watch Me Burn #3)(43)
Author: R.E. Bond

“Hey, no blow jobs in my fucking car, assholes. Put your pin dicks away, we’re here.”

I went to pull back, but Jensen pulled me forward more, consuming me with a surprise kiss.

His fingers ran through my hair before tightening, and I ignored Caden’s snort as Jensen unbuckled his seat belt and shuffled closer to me, almost laying over me.

Everything about Jensen was perfect, and despite him being a guy, I thought he was fucking beautiful.

When he finally sat back, he gave me the hottest smirk, running his thumb across my lower lip as his blue eyes stared into my almond ones.

“I love you, Luke.”

I was definitely the fucking feminine one in the relationship, because he was going to make me teary.

Asshole.

“I love you too, Jense. Now, get the fuck off me,” I joked, hoping my voice didn’t sound shaky.

The way that Holloway looked at me in the rear vision mirror told me they’d heard it though.

I relaxed when he gave me a wink, and I realized they really didn’t give a shit about Jensen and I being in a relationship.

If only I could grow some balls and let Jensen fuck me.

Chapter 8

Rory

“You can’t stay there alone anymore,” Tyler growled, shovelling pancakes into his mouth and earning an unamused look from me.

It was my fucking house, so of course I was staying there.

I always had someone with me anyway, so it wasn’t like they needed to panic.

“Like I ever get a night by myself anyway. My nights are divided up between you guys. It’s fine, seriously.”

“Like fuck, babe. What’s stopping them from bugging your house or some shit when you’re not home?” He continued, suddenly seeming to realize the possibility himself.

Just what I needed, them to increase their fucking guard dog behaviour.

“Ty…”

“I’m fucking serious. How do you know someone isn’t watching you in the shower? Or that when you’re asleep, that they don’t break in?” He exclaimed, waving his hands around as he got worked up.

I mean, there was that little issue.

After all, someone had already broken in while I was at Caden’s place.

What if there were cameras hidden in my house right now?

“The fact that I’m never alone, helps.”

Caden frowned, leaning back in his chair.

“He has a point and you know it, baby. Maybe you should stay at your dad’s old place for a while?”

I bristled, speaking angrily.

No one was running me out of Slash’s fucking house.

No-fucking-body.

“I’m not leaving Slash’s fucking house for someone to help themselves to!”

He became frustrated, his voice hard.

“What if it’s the Soldiers?”

“Then I’ll shoot them dead,” I retorted, making him raise an eyebrow at my dramatics.

I wasn’t being dramatic though.

They all knew I was completely serious.

“C’mon, Rory. Think about it. You know they’re still out for your blood,” he warned quietly, not wanting to draw too much attention.

I shrugged, wincing as my collar bone ached sharply.

“They can fucking try, Holloway.”

Skeeter put an arm around my shoulders carefully and kissed my temple, trying to defuse the situation.

“They won’t get far, trust me. Got you a little gift by the way, baby girl.”

That made me nervous.

Skeeter wasn’t big on gifts, and Slash used to give me people to kill when he said the word gift.

“What kind of gift?” I frowned, and he chuckled before motioning towards the window.

I peered out, my eyes going wide as a Corvette, identical to my wrecked one, parked in the parking lot.

Diesel climbed out from behind the wheel, leaning against the door with his arms crossed like king ding-a-ling.

What the fuck?

“You know, I don’t think I’ve ever seen her fucking speechless before,” Caden hummed, but I ignored the smartass and turned my attention to Skeeter, confusion filling my voice.

“You bought me a new car?”

He shrugged casually and sipped his coffee as if he didn’t just find a dodgy way to get hold of a car worth one hundred and thirty thousand fucking dollars.

Well, he’d done it fucking twice now, I guessed.

“The other one was fucked, and I know how much you loved it. Go check it out,” he encouraged, flashing me a cheeky grin.

I grinned back, waiting for the guys to shuffle and let me out, then I headed outside like a kid on Christmas, wincing as my body jolted in pain with the movement.

Diesel gave me a smirk as he tossed the keys to me.

“You must fuck real good, Donovan. Second Corvette he’s tracked down for you in less than a year.”

I swatted at him, but I was too fucking happy to tell him off.

“That I do. I was more than happy to buy myself a cheap car, though.”

He nodded but his eyes turned to concern as he looked me up and down.

“Hey, how have you been? You okay?”

I knew he was talking about Slash, but I nodded and acted dumb.

“Yeah, only bruising and stuff. Nothing major.”

He held my gaze, his expression going flat.

“You know what I’m talking about, Donovan.”

“Yeah, and I’m choosing to ignore it,” I replied casually, opening the car door to look inside.

He hummed his disapproval, moving up behind me and putting a hand on my shoulder, turning me around gently.

“Donovan.”

“What?” I scowled, watching his face soften.

“Talk to me.”

“I know you mean well, D, but I just don’t want to talk about him right now. It’s still got me a little messed up. I saw him when I had the accident,” I mumbled, sighing before continuing to talk when he gave me an encouraging look. “Someone pulled me from the car and patched up a nasty gash I had down my side. I heard him talking to me, and when I opened my eyes for a moment, it was Slash. I know it couldn’t have been him, but I have no idea who it could have been.”

“Someone helped you?” He asked, confusion and worry etching his face as I nodded.

“Yeah, someone pulled me from the wreck. Skeet said I called him and the emergency services, but I didn’t talk or anything. Someone else must have, but they didn’t want to be known. You don’t think a Soldier helped me because they felt bad, do you?”

It was the only explanation I’d come up with.

He snorted and gave me a serious look.

“Soldiers don’t feel sympathy, babe. If they pulled you from the wreck, you’d be tied up in an abandoned warehouse right now, being tortured until you died. Someone else must have helped you.”

Might as well tell him all of it, since we’d already started.

“Someone’s been in my house, too. They scrambled the security tapes, and Hunter couldn’t fix them to find out who it was.”

“Jesus fucking Christ, Donovan,” he muttered, glancing up as the others joined us.

Skeeter pulled me gently under his arm and grinned like the maniac that he was.

“So, you like it?”
