Kit could see the hope in Matthew’s eyes. He needed this. Maybe Kit did too. Kit slowly nodded, running everything through his mind. “Well, you know me. I refuse to be ashamed. Staying silent means Thomas wins. It means my mom gets to live her life like I never existed. I think we should meet with this guy and see what he has to say.”
Matthew visibly tried not to hope. “Okay. I mean, it can’t hurt to talk, right? If we can’t do what he needs, then at least we’ll know we took the offer seriously.”
“Exactly.” Kit loved how excited and proud Matthew looked. There was nothing he wouldn’t do to keep Matthew feeling strong.
Matthew closed the distance between them. “I’ll get it set up.” His hands slid across Kit’s hips. “In the meantime, I still feel like I have four months of snuggles and kisses to make up. Should we lock the door?”
Happiness welled inside Kit. “We should definitely lock the door.” Kit didn’t know where this advocate thing would go, but they had their entire lives to figure it out. Right now, Kit had a sexy and amazing husband to kiss and snuggle. Matthew was right. They had four months of lost time to make up. While Matthew needed the relaxation that his classes brought, they had plenty of time in between to squeeze in some loving. Kit could definitely see himself spending the rest of his life just like this. This was the good type of forever. Kit couldn’t wait to get started.
