Devil's Ride : A Dark MC Boxset(71)
Author: E.C. Land

“Brother, I’m not shittin’ you. She’s known as Silent Night,” Nerd says.

“Why didn’t we find any of this when we looked into her? Better yet, how did we not realize she had a brother,” I demand.

“He wouldn’t have found anything on Silent Night’s identity. As for her brother, before her uncle could stop it, her two vindictive aunts signed the papers that all but sold her to the Carons. The paper trail is hidden so deep, you'd be lucky to find it. Besides, Chains and Vicky didn’t want a lot of people to know they were related. Safety reasons for both of them,” Raven says as she plops down in the seat across from us.

“This is your pilot. Please make sure to fasten your seatbelts. We are preparing for departure,” a voice says over the intercom.

“Buckle up, boys. Next stop, ICMC clubhouse,” Raven smiles.

“Call me a boy one more time and see if I don’t show you different,” Blaze growls.

“You are a mighty fine big boy, but I think I’ll pass. You're too Conan the Barbarian for me,” Raven says, waving her hand dismissively as she grabs a case from underneath her seat. Opening it, I notice it’s a knife set.

“Fuckin’ hell, put that shit away for now,” Blaze snaps.

“Shut up. I’m just double checking I grabbed the right one. Vicky would be pissed if I didn’t bring the ones she needs. I mean I know she has the other set with her but she’s going to want her spare. As a precaution,” Raven shrugs.

“Those are my ol’ lady’s?” I ask in astound.

“Yep,” she nods, placing the case back under her seat. “Rest. We’ll be there soon.”

Nodding, I lean back in my seat and close my eyes, letting all the information sink in. Not only has Vi been keeping things this massive from me but she’s checked out. I’m going to have a lot to deal with when I finally get to her.

I just hope she’s still my woman when I see her.

Chapter Twenty-Three

Victoria

Torture. That’s what I’m doing to myself in staying here when all I really want to do is be near and holding him while demanding he wakes up. To have him hold me and let me be me again.

But that can’t happen until they're all gone and the threat is eliminated.

Get it together, woman. You have a target in sight.

Since being here, I’ve been keeping an eye on my parents’ house lying in wait for when they return. I’ll know when Parker returns thanks to my brother but these two, he doesn’t worry about too much.

Adjusting the sight of my rifle, I focus on the darkened figures as I sit on the flat rooftop of the three-car garage off to the side of the house. Setting my eyes on the woman who I called my mother does nothing for me.

No fear. No sorrow. Nothing.

As I stare at her I notice she still looks the same as she always did in her white suit and hair done up into a tight bun at the base of her head. She reminds me of the woman in a Beethoven movie I watched with Raven.

Moving my scope sight from my mother, I focus on the other figure and am surprised at who is walking into the house with my mother.

Parker.

And behind them is a scared girl around my age. Sad part about it all is that she looks similar to me. Her wrists are bound together and a leash is connected to a collar around her throat. Fuckin’ hell. I watch as Parker gives my mother the leash and steps back from both of them. Making sure to caress the girl’s face before heading back to the car they’d both gotten out of.

Drawing back from my rifle scope, I take a deep breath. I’m going to have to change my plans for tonight. Chains had wanted to have a family dinner, but I can’t leave this girl here. He’ll understand when I get back to the clubhouse.

Pulling out my phone, I text Shadow. He’d become useful since being here. I’d learned really quick just how he came across his name— he can blend wherever needed.

Me: Gonna need you to watch for any other cars coming up the road.

Shadow: I saw the girl.

Me: I’m not leaving her here. Plans have changed.

Shadow: Figured as much.

Me: Good I’ll shoot you a text when I’m ready for pick up.

Shadow: You have two hours after that I’m coming after you.

Me: I don’t need two hours.

Turning my phone off, I store my rifle in its case and head for the backside of the garage. Grabbing hold of the secured rope and tossing the gun case over my shoulder before slowly descending down the wall. Soon as I reach the bottom, I release the rope and dart for the side of the house sticking to the shadows.

I already know they haven’t changed the code on the house, so I make my way toward the kitchen. Pulling out my picking tool I unlock the door. I open the door enough for me to slide through and put in the code before it can make a noise. I feared my bump would have made all this more difficult, but it hasn’t.

Touching my stomach, I run my hand over my son for a brief moment as I listen to the silence of the house.

On silent feet I make my way toward the front of the house. The closer I get I can hear my mother speaking quietly. Putting my back to the wall I tilt my head to hear what she’s saying.

“I know Victoria took all that money and got rid of it. It’s why Parker and I found a girl who looks similar to the bitch. She can get the money back.”

I grind my teeth as I wait to see if she says anything else.

“Yes dear, I know but you want to win this election coming up and Parker needs you too. Our business depends on you winning. God forbid that Pierre asshole gets in office he’ll have all our heads. Besides this is just a small part of the plan sweetheart. Parker found the little cunt. His man shot the guy Victoria has been seeing. Soon as she’s back they’ll marry, have a child and then Parker will kill her.” I knew she was heartless but she’s going to deserve every bit I have planned for her.

But I don’t have time for that right now. I need to find the girl and get out of here. I’ll take care of her another day.

Peeking around the room I make sure my mother is alone. Not seeing the girl I back away. Hearing the bitch go on about how they were going to off me, I’m more than tempted to take her out now.

Now’s not the time.

On silent feet I move through the house finding the girl in my old bedroom. As I open the door her eyes widen at the sight of me. I put my finger to my lips to tell her to be quiet. I slowly approach her not wanting to scare her.

“I’m going to get you out of here and take you somewhere safe,” I whisper as I squat down to face her.

“How are you going to be able to help me? They said they’d kill me if I tried to leave,” she says.

“Don’t worry about that. Come with me and I promise you they won’t touch you,” I murmur as I hold out my hand for her to take.

“I don’t know,” she says, shrinking further into herself.

Sighing, I pull my hand back, “What’s your name?” I ask.

“Luna,” she whispers.

“Well Luna if you don’t come with me now regardless of what they told you they’re still going to kill you. With me I can get you to safety and away from this nightmare,” I state as I stand to my feet. “Now’s your chance to choose.”
