Pompous Player (Cocky Hero Club)(26)
Author: Brenda Rothert

I release her hands and pull her close, my body rigid with arousal. I didn’t know it was physically possible to want a woman as much as I want Winter.

“What do you think?” she asks, looking up at me.

“I think you better get in the kitchen right fucking now.”

Chapter Nineteen

Winter

By the time we make it to the kitchen, my shirt is on the floor and my shorts are pushed down to my knees, making it hard to walk.

Harry bends down and pulls my feet through the shorts, but instead of standing back up, he presses a soft kiss to my inner thigh.

“Ohh, that’s a sensitive sp—oh my God, Harry, you can’t…” I squeal as his mouth climbs higher up my leg.

He puts his hands on the backs of my thighs, holding me in place as he looks up at me. “You want me to stop?”

“No,” I say, the word coming out as a breathy sigh. “But I can’t promise I won’t laugh if you tickle me.”

There’s a smirk on his face as he moves his hands up, his fingertips sliding beneath my panties. He keeps his gaze on my face as he cups my bare ass and I gasp.

“I’m not planning to tickle you,” he says in a low tone, gripping my panties and sliding them off.

Instinct forces me to push my thighs together, to try to cover my exposed body. There’s a wall of windows here, too, and the forest is on the other side of them.

“Don’t hide yourself from me, Winter.” He stands up and reaches around to unfasten my bra, gently pulling it off and letting it fall to the floor. “Being mine means I get to see all of you, anytime I want.”

“Do I get the same?” I murmur, arching a brow.

Harry smiles. “Of course.”

I let my eyes roam over the muscles and ink tattooed on his chest. It feels good to finally be able to ogle him properly. And as he unsnaps his jeans and pushes them down, along with his boxers, I ogle the hell out of Harry.

He doesn’t disappoint. Not in the least. His thigh and calve muscles are as defined as the rest of him, and his erection is…almost intimidating.

“You’re so damn beautiful, Winter,” he says softly, studying me.

I flush all over, a little bit embarrassed but mostly turned on. Everything about this is so much more intense than I ever imagined it could be.

“Now turn around and put your hands on the counter,” Harry says, his eyes narrowing a fraction.

My breath hitches as he acts out the beginning of my fantasy. Once I’ve turned to face the counter, palms flat on its surface, he cups one of my ass cheeks in his hand, his breath hot on my ear as he pulls his hand back and slaps me.

“Is that what you like?” he whispers in my ear.

“Yes,” I whimper, hot from head to toe.

As he delivers another smack, he kisses my shoulder and wraps his other arm around me, cupping one of my breasts.

My body hums in response to his touch, leaving no room for doubt. If my arousal were a dial, Harry is the only man who’s ever turned it up to a thousand; I want him with everything I am. It doesn’t just feel like we’ve been moving closer to this moment every day since we moved in together, but every day of our lives. Like we were made for one another.

When he moves away, I moan softly, the air around me cold. He picks up his jeans and then drops them back to the floor, quickly ripping open a condom.

I have to remind myself to breathe as I wait for him to roll the condom on. When he’s done, he puts a hand on my waist and kisses my shoulder again.

“This isn’t just sex,” he says, his breath warm against my skin. “You mean more to me than any woman ever has. You know that, right?”

More than Mallory did.

I force the thought from my mind, needing this to be about the two of us. Not the past, but the present.

“Yes,” I say softly.

My thoughts dissolve as he pushes inside me, groaning. He goes slowly at first, and I need it. He fills me completely, but soon it feels incredible and I’m begging for more.

More, more, more. The more Harry gives me, the more I want. I’ve never had sex like this—frantic and tender, sensual and frenzied. If the cabin caught fire right now, I wouldn’t be able to stop.

We were made for this. For each other. Every touch and every sound is exactly what I need. We’re a perfectly performed orchestra, climbing closer to climax with every note our bodies play together.

Harry reaches around to touch me, and I come undone. My sanity shatters into a thousand glittering pieces for a few blissful seconds as I cry his name out with tears in my eyes. He follows, breathing hard as he wraps his arms around me from behind.

It takes a few moments for either of us to move. When I turn around and meet Harry’s gaze, there’s something different about it. Something new.

“I didn’t know it would be like that,” he says, looking a little stunned.

“Yeah, that was…intense.”

“I can’t have sex with anyone else ever again.”

I laugh and furrow my brow. “I’m not sure that’s possible, Dirty Harry.”

“Winter, I’m serious.” He cups my face in his hands and in his earnest expression I see that he is, in fact, serious. “I’ve never felt anything like that before. Have you?”

My gut reaction is to say something sarcastic. Crack a joke. Deflect. I never thought I’d be comfortable letting Harry see me be this vulnerable. But then, I never thought I’d achieve a transcendental state during sex with him, either, and here we were.

“No,” I admit.

“Do you think it’ll be like that every time?”

“I mean…probably not? That was probably just because it was our first time.”

“Yeah,” he says, sounding completely unconvinced as he kisses my lips and then my forehead. “Maybe that was it.”

“There goes your theory,” Harry says two hours later as I climb off his lap and curl against his side in the king-size bed in the master bedroom.

“I actually thought the second time was…even better,” I admit. “And then the third time was—”

“Better yet,” he finishes.

“It was.”

We both look up at the ceiling in the darkened room for a minute, lost in our thoughts.

“Be with me,” Harry says, cutting through the quiet.

“I’m about as close as I can possibly get.”

“I mean when we get home. All the time. Be with me. A real couple.”

I lean up on my elbow and look down at the outline of his face in the dark.

“Don’t you think we’d drive each other crazy?”

He smiles, stroking his thumb over the bare skin of my hip. “I’ll happily fight with you every day for the rest of my life if we get to have make-up sex like that.”

“It’s not just about sex, though. It’s more complicated than that.”

“Only if we make it that way. We’re both single, we both love Avery…it feels like we’re already a family.”

I sit up, bringing my knees to my chest. “You make it sound like we should be together because it’s convenient.”
