Pieces Of Me (Pieces Duet #2)(62)
Author: Jay McLean

She crawls onto the bed and then toward me, her tits hanging low. I take one in my hand, squeeze gently while she climbs on top of me, settles her knees on either side of my head.

I grasp my cock, fisting up and down as she lowers herself onto me.

It doesn’t take long for her to come, for her pleasure to soak my lips, my chin. She moans loudly, her back arched, her loose hair falling, the ends tickling my torso.

I wait until she’s settled before pushing her onto her back, wiping my face with my discarded shirt and grabbing a condom from the nightstand. Then I settle between her legs, the tip of my cock teasing her entrance.

“Holden,” she breathes out.

I blow out a breath as I trail my gaze up her insane body, meeting her eyes.

She reaches up, cupping my nape and pulling me down to her waiting mouth. She kisses me, the taste of our combined pleasures mixing. I enter her slowly, spreading her pussy the way I’ve fantasized for weeks now. And then I still, my weight held up by my forearms. She pulls back, breaking the kiss, her eyes softening with every second she stares into mine. “I love you,” she says, and the way she looks at me—it’s like a switch, casting light inside my soul. I went from pure need and lust to… I smile down at her, my heart aching with the heaviness of my emotions. “Sunshine and solace.”

Holden

“I’ll definitely be there,” I say into the phone.

“Are you sure?” Gina asks. “I know you’re in the middle of the season, and you must be very busy.”

“I wouldn’t miss it for the world,” I tell her honestly, getting up from the bench just outside the door. “Hey, have you heard from Jamie today?”

“No, I tried calling her, but it rang out. Why? Is everything okay?”

“I’m sure she’s around. I just can’t find her,” I murmur. “She couldn’t have gone far. Her RV is still here.” And the keys are hanging on the hook right next to my work keys and the key to her garden because that’s what happens when you introduce trust into a relationship, something both of us had to earn back.

“Well, you know how much she loves wandering around your gardens. Maybe she just lost track of time?”

“Yeah, maybe that’s…” I trail off when I hear something on the walking trail behind some brush and start moving toward it. Before I make it two steps, Jamie appears on an old bike I’ve never even seen before.

“You there, Holden?” Gina asks

“Yeah,” I chuckle. “Jamie just showed up. Hang on, Gina.” I lower the phone and watch, entertained, as Jamie gets off the bike. She’s in her usual denim cut-offs and tank top, but she’s sweating from head to toe and covered in dirt. “Where have you been?” I ask, unable to hide my amusement. “And where the hell did that bike come from?”

“It was Maggie’s old one,” she says, stopping in front of me. “She said I could have it.” She jerks her head toward my phone. “Is that Gina?”

“Shit,” I whisper, bringing the phone to my ear again. “Hey, Gina. Sorry about that. Jamie’s here.”

“You called Gina?” Jamie whispers, eyebrows drawn.

I shake my head as Gina says, “That’s good. I’ll let you go now and speak to you both soon.”

We say our goodbyes and hang up, and Jamie’s freckles in her cheeks shift as she looks up at me, questions again, “You called Gina?”

“No. She called me.”

“How’d she get your number?”

“She called the shop, and Mags gave it to her.”

“Why didn’t she call me?”

“She tried, but you didn’t answer. I tried, and you didn’t answer.” I reach up, wipe the dirt off her cheek with my thumb. “Where have you been?”

“At the creek. I left my phone in the bike’s basket,” she says, reaching into her pockets. She shows me what Benny would call his treasures. “I got some rocks for Benny!” The way she says this—like a little kid—has me snorting with laughter.

“You fucking cute head,” I say, throwing my arm around her neck and bringing her into me. “Why didn’t you take the four-wheeler?”

“I didn’t know if I was allowed.”

I turn us toward the door and open it for her. “Babe, you’ve been here over a month, and if I haven’t made it clear by now that what’s mine is yours, then I’m doing something wrong.”

After entering the house, Jamie turns to me. “Does that mean I can replace that piece of shit coffee table?”

I look at the stacks of pallets in front of the couch. “Yes.”

“Can I change the ugly-ass curtains?”

Sliding my eyes to hers again, I say, “I’ll take you shopping for new ones tomorrow.”

“I hate your bed.”

“What?” I laugh out.

“Your bed. You’ve had sex in that bed with someone else, and I hate it.”

I grab both her shoulders and duck my head so I can make sure she’s looking at me. “I’ll burn it to ashes right fucking now.”

Her eyes thin to slits, and I can see her mind spinning, trying to find a new way to test me. “I…” Her shoulders drop beneath my touch. “I got nothing,” she mumbles. “The curtains are ugly, but I’m kind of attached to them now.”

“Good.” I kiss her forehead. “You better get in the shower, or we’re going to be late, and Mia hates it when I’m late.”

She hands me Benny’s rocks before spinning on her heels, already stripping out of her clothes before she gets to the bathroom.

I make my way to the kitchen and find a plastic bag for the rocks.

In the time that Jamie’s been here, we’ve hung out with Mia, Leo, and Benny more times than I can count. Benny loves Jamie, and they often go off alone on their own little adventures together. Sometimes I fear that Benny will let our little secret slip, but so far, he’s kept his promise.

The week after Jamie got her RV back, we went away for the weekend. She didn’t tell me where we were going, stating that it would be better if it were a surprise, and she wasn’t wrong.

We parked the RV next to a lake with a giant waterfall and spent two nights there, hiking the trails and climbing up to the top of the cliff edge, where we jumped off multiple times into the clear blue water. We spent hours in the lake during the day, and at night, we would sneak off where no one could see us and have insane amounts of sex on every surface possible. Okay, maybe I’m exaggerating the last part, but we did christen her RV, and I get it now—why Jamie loved what she did. She may be over the nomad lifestyle, but she still wants to travel and see new things. And now, so do I. So, we’ve made plans to go away one weekend a month, at least until the summer’s over and work dies down a little. After that, we can go for longer stints, and I won’t be so worried about the nursery.

Since Dean sold Esme’s house, we spent a few days last week in Tennessee. We finished clearing out the house, signed some paperwork, had dinner with Zeke, and even went to a bar with Dean.

Jamie made me promise I wouldn’t punch or throw him in a pool, to which I agreed. The truth is, it isn’t hard to get along with Dean. We have a history that surpasses my time with Jamie, and I can’t deny that he’s important to her or that he was there for her when I couldn’t be. And I have to respect him for that. Sure, he stuck his dick in her, but damn, if Jamie went around punching every girl I’ve ever stuck—“Why am I even thinking about this?” I whisper to myself, as I close the Ziplock bag full of rocks.
