Music Lights & Never Afters(97)
Author: C.L. Matthews

“My little monster man, no chocolate milk until you’ve had water and regular milk.” Setting him down, he folded his arms across his chest, his little pout the cutest thing ever.

“But then I won’t be thirsty,” he grumbled.

“Then you won’t be thirsty,” I confirmed. “Listen to your momma and maybe by dinner she’ll change her mind.”

Andy stuck her tongue out at me and I gave her the look that told her I’d put that tongue to good use if she didn’t put it away.

Even eight years later, a blush tinted her cheeks. “That’s right, little demon. Behave.”

A smirk tilted at her lips as Royal scurried off. I gripped her throat, bringing her mouth to mine. She moaned into me, licking inside a moment later. My cock wished to lift her onto the counter and feast between her legs, but the four hungry kids waiting for her and me to bring out dinner told me no.

Asper’s hair was black, curly like mine, and his dimpled cheeks were always present, even when he frowned. He had Andy’s cinnamon eyes; they even had a little speckle of gold, like gilded pieces always floating.

Royal was six and mischievous as ever. He snuck around and ate snacks he shouldn’t be having and while we knew, we never went after him for it. Matching his mom, he had pinecone brown hair, mixed with my bad temper

There was something about having kids that fulfilled me. I never knew I’d have this kind of love for anyone but Andy, but here I was, eight years later with children I’d destroy the world to protect.

Nadia and Addie were five-year-old twins, Nad being a little spitfire. Her hair was red and untamed, much like her sister’s. We spent hours learning how to braid it and take care of it properly. She always had a smile on her face, her freckles sun-kissed across her cheeks, her little green eyes sparkling with gold flecks.

Addie, my sweet little pea. She always had a bright outlook on the world. With her little gapped teeth and smiles for days, I felt so completely protective of her. Much like Nad, she had insanely curly hair. Her skin was a dark chestnut, her freckles noticeable but not as much as her twin sister’s.

All of my kids had the best personalities, with so much love in their life. I adored the air they breathed and would sacrifice everything for them.

I kissed Andy until she was breathless, her body—curves and all—grinding against me. “Want you,” she whimpered against my lips. I reached down, slipping my hand up her dress, cupping her heat.

“Tonight, when they go to bed, I’ll worship your body, little demon. Tie you up like a little whore.”

Her eyes blinked at me slowly, the words getting her wetter. Dipping between her thighs, I inserted two fingers, eliciting a moan. Taking them out, I popped them into my mouth, making a little noise.

“Fuck, I’ve missed eating you out.”

“I’m sorry, Nad has been fussy at night.”

Kissing her once more, I slapped her ass. “Never apologize for being an amazing mom. You’re a fucking godsend.”

“Oooh! Daddy said a bad word!” Addie hollered upon entering the kitchen, tapping her sister’s shoulder. Her little mouth opened and she slapped a hand over her mouth. I rushed them both, picking them up and giving them tickles. Andy laughed and their musical giggles filled the air.

“Shh, it’ll be our little secret,” I teased, kissing the tops of their heads. They ran off, squealing.

“I’m telling Grampa Roy!”

“Oh, Daddy is in trouble,” Andy taunted and I wanted to slap her ass for the way she bit her lip. Since getting pregnant the first time, Andy developed a daddy kink.

It was a pleasant shock and I loved when she screamed it in the bedroom.

“I’ll bring out the pot roast,” I said, needing a distraction from my dick.

“I’ll get the potatoes and rolls,” she added, following me back into the kitchen. When we got there, I noticed she hadn’t turned the pot roast off, so it’d be super hot.

I hope none of the kids burned themselves. They tended to get grabby hands when we ate. Grabbing the oven mitts, we brought dinner to our massive dining room. We had a huge fourteen-person table, one we had custom-made for all our kids, and friends when they came over. We had a matching one for the little ones when the seats were filled.

As soon as we got into the dining room, I spotted Asper. His face was downturned into a frown, his little lips curled in disappointment. I wondered what brought that expression onto his face.

His long hair swooped over his eyes, his expressions mostly covered by the long locks. We didn’t want to cut his hair, he decided early on that he enjoyed the look of long hair. We didn’t dictate what our children dressed like, let alone how they kept their hair. They were free to be themselves without gender roles and the pressure society already put on them.

“Hey, bud, you okay?” His sad eyes hit mine, and I wondered what happened before he masked it. It wasn’t news that Asper knew how to mask his emotions as well as me. He always hid his emotions if he felt they would bother me and I wanted to work through that with him.

Letting him know emotions and expressing them were important parts of our lives. He didn’t seem to get the memo and tended to have a saddened expression.

“I’m okay, Dad,” he reassured, schooling his features.

“There was a little boy outside who upset him,” Royce said, his kind eyes meeting mine. Even in his early fifties, Royce still looked young. It shocked me since he basically raised Andy and me. Now, he gave my kids as much love as he had always given us, and a few years ago, I started calling him Dad.

I loved him like a father and he never abandoned me. It was something I respected wholeheartedly. My three other monsters came in loudly, jumping up and down. Nad gave Royce a kiss and Royal gave Tays a hug and kiss.

“Who was it?”

“Scipio Grim,” Royal butted in, his face showing how much he didn’t like Colt’s son. Colt is Noah’s sister, another thing I learned about her in the time since marrying Andy. She was a triplet, and her family was a lot darker than she led on.

Glancing at Asper, I wanted to wipe away the frown lines and erase his discomfort, but I knew no matter what I said or did, he’d feel this way.

“What happened?”

He shook his head. “Nothing important.”

“Scipio told Asper that one day he’d marry him,” Royal stated, always eavesdropping. Asper punched his shoulder and I separated them.

“Enough.” Asper looked at me with sadness while Royal smugly smiled.

“Whether you one day marry a guy, a girl, anyone, or choose not to bind yourself in that way, it’s your choice.”

“I don’t like him,” Asper grumbled, his eyes narrowed. “Or anyone, for that matter.”

Royal laughed, his eyes crinkling at the corners. “He likes Scip and he’s just—”

“Let it go, Royal,” I chagrined, tapping his chin. “Leave your brother be.”

He pouted, folding his arms across his chest before sitting. “Fine.”

Asper walked away, his face reddened and embarrassed and I didn’t know if I should chase him and reassure him or let him express his emotions without my helicoptering.

“I missed you guys,” Addie said with a pout, breaking the tension my sons created. Her little brown eyes stared at Tays and Royce. She gazed up at them as if they were angels, and in a way, they were. She always played with Tays's hair, comparing both their styles, knowing that they were similar.
