Deviant Reign (Knight's Ridge Empire #6)(57)
Author: Tracy Lorraine

“You came,” I say the second I pull the door open and find Daemon standing on the other side.

“You said there was Chinese,” is his only reasoning, but secretly, I think he feels more left out than he wants to show. And now we all live in the same building, he’s hardly got an excuse to avoid us. Well, not as big of one.

“Come on, Seb and Stella ordered a feast.”

Alex is the only one who makes a deal about him showing his face, but then I guess that can be expected seeing as they’re twins.

Everyone else just continues as if he was always here.

Exactly as it should be.

“You look happy,” Emmie whispers in my ear as I sit and watch everyone enjoying themselves, my dinner still sitting mostly untouched on my plate.

Wrapping my arm around her shoulders, I lean in closer.

“I am, I confess. What more could I need?”

“Well, now you put it that way,” she teases before I collar her throat and kiss her like we’re alone while the others whoop and holler like fucking idiots around us.

“Who are you messaging?” I ask, dropping down beside Calli on Theo’s sofa.

He’s with Alex, Nico, Toby, and Daemon in the kitchen, talking business. Business which involves the quickest way they can find my Pops and put an end to all this bullshit. I probably shouldn’t have gotten bored listening to them, but I’m fed up of it. I want to forget about all that and enjoy myself.

Calli moves so fast that she actually fumbles with her phone. It lands in my lap, but she comes to her senses quick enough to snatch it up before I get to it.

“Jesus. Is he that hot?” I ask with a laugh.

Her cheeks burn bright red and she stares at me with wide eyes.

“No, no. It’s no one.”

“Fuck off, Cal. That is not no one. Oh my God,” I gasp, lowering my voice. “Is it Xander?”

“What? No.” She sounds horrified by even the suggestion.

“He’s hot. I’d totally get it if you—”

“I don’t. I mean, yeah. He’s totally hot. But no. Not my type.”

“Okay so who is your type? Because I’m yet to figure it out.”

Her mouth parts to respond, but she changes her mind.

“Come on, Cal. This is me. You can tell me anything.”

Her eyes shoot to the guys, her brows pulling in concern.

“It’s no one. Honestly. Just a bit of stupid fun.”

“Even more reason to tell me. Are you sexting?” I ask, wiggling my brows suggestively.

“No.”

“Okay… so… is it someone I know?”

“No, it’s not. It’s really no one.”

“Okay, fair enough.” She looks at me as if she’s already feeling guilty about cutting me out. “Don’t do that, Cal. If you don’t want to tell me, it’s totally fine.” Taking her hand, I squeeze gently. “But if you need to talk, I’m here. Okay? You can tell me anything.”

Her eyes glisten with tears, which makes my stomach knot with concern.

What the hell are you up to, Callista Cirillo?

The music that’s pumping through the hidden speakers throughout Theo’s flat suddenly gets louder—so loud it actually makes Seb drag his lips from Stella’s on the other sofa for a second.

The hairs on the back of my neck stand on end, letting me know that he’s close two seconds before the sofa cushion compresses behind me and his hands slide from my shoulders to my breasts, squeezing in the most teasing way, reminding me of exactly what he owes me.

“Dance with me, wife,” he growls in my ear.

Unable to deny him, I push from the sofa as he hops over the back and pulls me into his body.

“Hey, dickhead,” he mutters, slapping Seb around the head. “Fuck off home if you can’t keep your cock out of her. I don’t want your bodily fluids on my sofa.”

Seb flips him off over his shoulder, not ripping his lips from Stella’s for a beat.

“They’re in love, leave them to it,” I chastise, brushing my lips along the roughness of his jaw.

“Hmm… Me too,” he moans as I suck on his neck hard enough to leave a mark.

“It’s not a bad place to be, it seems,” I whisper in his ear.

Dragging my head back with his fingers twisted in my hair, he stares down at me, his eyes searching mine.

“It’s better than that, Em. It’s fucking everything.”

His lips find mine, everything and everyone around us ceases to exist as our tongues duel and our hips grind to the beat.

I lose all sense of time as he consumes me, driving me crazy with his burning touch, his kisses, and his downright filthy promises.

The songs all blur into each other as my body burns up, my need for him to return the favour from earlier too much to ignore.

Reaching up on my toes, I brush my lips against his ear. “I can’t wait any longer. I want your mouth on my pussy right fucking now.”

His grip on me tightens as a growl of need rumbles deep in his chest.

“Let yourselves out,” Theo booms over the music. Before I have a chance to say anything, he throws me over his shoulder, his palm coming down on my arse so hard a scream rips from my throat.

I look up just in time to catch Stella’s eye before we disappear. ‘Have fun,’ she mouths.

“What?” I ask nervously as Theo stares down at me the next morning with an intensity that makes my breath catch.

“Did you…” he hesitates, and that doesn’t make my heart rate lessen at all. “Did you really ask Cruz to get you the morning after pill?”

I gasp, ripping my eyes away from him. Shame twists at my insides, although I’m not sure why. I shouldn’t feel like that. I did the right thing. I was being sensible. Unlike him. Although, I guess if I really were being a sensible adult like I claim to be, then I shouldn’t have let him screw me bare when I knew there was a risk.

“Emmie,” he growls, his warm fingers gripping my chin. “Don’t try and hide from me.” His nose nudges mine. “You already know that I’ll find you eventually.”

“I know, I just…” I blow out a breath. “Yeah, I did ask Cruz to get me the morning after pill. You locked me down in the basement without my birth control. And then…”

“You seduced me,” he growls with a smirk pulling at his lips.

“I was probably overreacting, nothing probably would have happened, but…”

“It was the right thing to do.”

It’s stupid, but hearing those words from his lips slices me open. My eyes fill with tears and a lump the size of Australia clogs my throat.

Theo’s eyes widen in horror as I quite obviously fall apart right in front of him.

“Em, what’s wrong?”

“I-I d-don’t know,” I stutter as my bottom lip trembles.

A deep frown forms on his brow as he wraps his arm around me and pulls me tighter into his body.

“Do you think you made a mistake? Did you want… Do you want…”

“No. No, I don’t want kids. Well, not right now. In the future, maybe. I just…”
