Held Captive by a Criminal's Heart(6)
Author: B. Love

“That would make me really happy.”

She smiled, chuckling when he asked her to tell him about how the baby changed her days and life so far. As he listened, Silky was filled with even more ammunition to get home. He needed to clear his name and get back to his wife before their baby was born. When they talked about starting their family, Silky imagined himself being by her side every step of the way.

The easier this became for Siara, the harder it became for Silky… and he honestly didn’t know how much more of this he could take.

Siara was mad as hell. She couldn’t wait for Silky to call her so she could go off on him for even dealing with Julia in the first place. For the most part, she was able to maintain a positive perspective. Today, today was a bad day.

First, she had a breakdown at the doctor’s office because Silky wasn’t able to be there with her. Then, she fell on her way out to the car and everything fell out of her purse. For a while, she just sat there and cried. After that, the biscuits she’d gotten from Joe’s were burnt. It was the only thing she had a taste for, and they were ruined. The manager ended up having her a fresh batch made because she damn near had another meltdown.

By the time she’d made it home, Siara was mentally drained. All she wanted to do was make a cup of tea, shower, and climb into the middle of their bed. Her desire to let Silky have it for marrying Julia was replaced with a desire to hear his voice. Because that was all she needed in that moment – him.

Siara missed her husband.

Desperately.

And the more she missed him, the angrier she became.

After cutting the water on in the shower, Siara went back into their bedroom to find something comfortable to slip into. She was sixteen weeks pregnant, and their baby was healthy and growing. Her stomach was protruding, and every time she went to visit Silky, he could barely take his eyes off her. They agreed that they wouldn’t find out the sex of their baby until he came home, or during her third trimester – whichever came first.

As she rummaged through her dresser drawer, Siara was caught off guard by what sounded like the front door opening and closing. It wouldn’t surprise her if it was her parents or Silky’s, but they always called before they came over. The longer she sat there, Siara wondered if she’d even locked the door when she made it in. Standing at the top of the stairs, Siara was sure she was seeing things.

Her hand went underneath her belly as she stared at him.

It didn’t matter how much time had passed since Silky had stepped foot in his home, she’d never be able to forget him.

Or his reddish, caramel brown skin. That tall, muscular frame. His arm tattoos. Or his wild, thick, long, curly hair. It was naturally black and dirty brown in color. It had grown some over the months, resting just past his shoulders.

“Silky,” she almost whispered, clutching the banister.

His tight, under turned eyes looked darker than normal. Siara couldn’t help but wonder if his time away would permanently make them that way. And his full lips were a shade darker, as if he was smoking weed every day he was locked up. The beard that wrapped around them was new… and she kind of liked it. It gave a rough edge to his majestically manly yet beautiful features.

“You just gonna stand up there and stare at me?” he asked, and even though his face was serious, Siara heard the smile in his tone.

Her head shook as her eyes watered. “Is this a dream?”

“Come touch me and see.”

After releasing a shaky breath, Siara made her way down the stairs and into his waiting arms. Silky lifted her into the air and spun her around.

“You’re really here,” she realized, holding him tighter. “What the hell happened?”

“I remembered Julia had some eggs frozen and I had some sperm frozen. When we divorced, I didn’t think to have my sperm destroyed. I told Taylor to look into it, and he was able to confirm that she’d gone to retrieve it. He took that information to the prosecutor, and it was enough to create speculation. Without any other evidence, he was able to get the judge to set a bond for my release. He’s going to try and get the charge dropped altogether this week, but if he can’t, he will have the trial pushed back so his investigators can look into more suspects. But for now, it looks like she got the sperm and was killed shortly after.”

As Silky placed her on her feet, Siara ran her hands down his hair.

“I can’t believe you’re here. Do you think there’s a chance they will drop the charges altogether?”

He shrugged. “It’s possible. I don’t even want to think about that right now, I just want to enjoy being back home with you.”

Dropping to his knees, Silky’s hands went to her waist. She smiled softly as he placed a kiss to her stomach and looked into her eyes.

“I’m so happy, baby! We have to call everyone so we can go out and celebrate.”

Silky stood as he chuckled quietly. “I’m happy, too, and we will celebrate, but right now… I just want to spend some time with my wife.” His hand went to her stomach. “My pregnant wife.” Siara blushed as she covered her face with her palms. “You’re far along enough to be showing and I haven’t been able to touch you in almost three months.”

Lowering her hands from her face, Silky kissed her palms.

“Well…” Siara’s voice dropped as she grinned. “I’m sixteen weeks. You haven’t missed much, but I’m so damn happy you’re here.”

Lifting her up bridal style, Silky carried her up the stairs and to their bedroom. The shower was still running, so he placed her on the sink as he undressed. When he was done, Silky removed her clothing as well. They got into the shower, taking the time to slowly wash one another from head to toe. They stayed inside until the water ran cold, then they got out and oiled and dried each other off.

In bed, Siara couldn’t help but stare at Silky as he ran his fingers through her hair. She thought she’d be anxious to make love to him when he came back home, but in this moment, all she wanted to do was look at him. A part of her still thought this was a dream. A very realistic dream, but a dream, nonetheless.

“I feel like I need to get down on my knees right now and thank God,” she confessed before giggling and cupping his cheeks. “You’re home, Silk. I still can’t believe it.”

“Can I give you something you can feel so you’ll know this is real?”

His hand slid between her legs, parting them slightly. Biting down on her bottom lip, Siara moaned quietly as she nodded. Her eyes were already sitting low as he spread her legs wide. As his middle finger slipped between her folds, his tongue traced her lips. She opened her mouth, ready to invite him in. Silky wasted no time connecting his tongue with hers. There was something different about his kiss… something that made it feel like the first time all over again.

She chalked it up to the fact that they hadn’t kissed in almost three months and they needed to become familiar with each other again.

Silky turned her onto her side slightly, and she found his care and concern just as sexy as it had always been. It was clear that he didn’t feel comfortable hovering over her body, and Siara appreciated him for that. Her leg wrapped around him, and she whimpered as he cupped her breast and gently thumbed her nipple.
