Held Captive by a Criminal's Heart
Author: B. Love

Introduction

Before you read:

This is my first mystery, so it is a novella. I wanted something quick and short to get my feet wet in this new genre. There aren’t any unanswered questions, loopholes, or anything like that, though. Also, this is not the typical B. Love romance. There’s not a lot of mush here in the form of a new love brewing. If that’s what you’re looking for, please read one of my other 100+ novels.

Enjoy!

She’d dreamed he was dead – and it damn near scared the life out of her. This wasn’t the first time Siara had this dream, but it was lasting longer and feeling realer. Even though her husband, Silky, was still asleep, Siara curved her body next to his and held him close. Caressing his chest, Siara inhaled a deep, shaky breath.

“I love you so much,” she whispered, squeezing his arm.

“I love you more,” Silky replied, voice gruff and thick with sleep.

Siara smiled as a lone tear slid down her cheek. “I didn’t mean to wake you.”

Silky’s arms wrapped around her. He placed a kiss to the top of her head before releasing a hard exhale. As Silky cleared his throat, Siara tossed her leg over his to get closer.

They met when Siara was five and Silky was seven. His father’s best friend, who took on the role of Silky’s uncle, married her aunt. She was the flower girl and he was the ring bearer. What started out as crushes turned into puppy love, and thirty years later, they were deeply in love and married. Over the years, they dated other people, and Silky had even married someone else, but those three years were all it took for him to realize he would rather spend his life alone than with a woman that wasn’t Siara.

Halfway into their sixth year of marriage, Siara couldn’t imagine herself without Silky… which was why having nightmares of him dying were so triggering.

“What’s wrong, SiSi?”

Her eyes closed as his hand slid down the nape of her neck. Just his touch and soothing voice was enough to calm her nerves.

“I had that dream again,” she whispered. “You were hit by the car, dead on impact.”

“Were you able to see who was in the car this time?”

Her head shook as she clenched her jaw. “No. They didn’t get out.”

Siara released a shaky breath, not wanting to release any more tears. It felt silly crying over a dream, no matter how real it felt. Silky was here in this moment with her, and that should have been all that mattered.

“When it comes to you… to us…” Silky paused, tilting her chin by his forefinger. Even though it was dark outside and in their room, Siara felt his eyes on her. “I’m indestructible. Nothing will ever come between us.” She nodded, biting down on her bottom lip as Silky gently laid her flat on her back and hovered over her. “I will never leave you. And if I’m ever taken, I’m fighting with everything in me to stay, okay?”

Her small palms cupped his cheeks. “Okay.”

As soon as okay slipped from between her lips, Silky was tugging her bottom lip into his mouth. Waking up in the middle of the night was inconvenient, but if it meant having her husband inside of her, Siara didn’t mind the intrusion to her sleep at all. He repeatedly muttered that he loved her against her lips, and each mantra provided the validation she needed.

Silky’s mouth slid down her neck. Chest. Breasts. Stomach. Pussy. Thighs. Knees. Calves. Toes. As he made his way back up her body, his tongue came out to play, too. This time, he settled between her legs – nibbling and kissing and licking her inner thighs. With his hands on her waist, Silky slid his tongue between her folds, tightening his grip around her when she arched her

back. His mouth closed around her clit and Silky moaned into her as she inhaled a sharp breath.

She’d slept with seven men in her life, but Silky had been the only man capable of making her cum from penetration. That didn’t keep him from using his mouth, fingers, and toys to satisfy her, though. In fact, Silky loved teasing her clit as he stroked her deeply. He loved how her orgasms were twice as intense. How she hugged his dick as if the walls of her pussy never wanted to let him go.

“Baby,” she moaned. Pleaded. Though he was a master when it came to pleasing her orally, this was one of those moments where Siara craved the completion that came from having him inside of her. Siara pulled him up her body by his arms, wrapping her legs around his waist tightly.

“You don’t wanna let me eat?” The feel of his breath on her ear caused her to shiver.

“Later. I need you inside.”

Giving her exactly what she needed, Silky entered her with one slow, deep stroke. It didn’t matter how often they had sex, it always took her pussy time to adjust to his width and length. That first stroke was always her undoing. The one that had her bottom lip trembling as she gasped.

As he began to make his way in and out of her, Silky lowered himself to her lips.

“I love you so much, bae,” he confessed, words seemingly piercing the center of her heart. “Only God will be able to rip me away from you.”

There was something about his declaration while he was inside of her that had Siara weakening underneath him. She pulled him closer for strength, placing her hand in the center of his chest. As his heart beat against her palm, Siara lifted her head slightly to kiss him.

They fed each other moans, rocking and rolling their hips to provide one another with brewing pleasure. Her nails dug into his back as her legs began to weaken around him. Not only was he applying pressure to her spot before diving deep, but he was also brushing against her clit with each stroke. As pleasure surged within her physically, Siara branded this moment into her mind and focused on how good his love for her made her feel emotionally.

Silky had been so much to her for so long that she was willing to go to war with God behind him.

All she could do was pray that her dream, if anything, was a warning of what they could potentially avoid and not a premonition of pending pain.

It felt like just as soon as Siara had fallen into a deep slumber, the sound of banging jolted both her and Silky out of their sleep. Clutching her chest, she drew in deep, ragged breaths.

“Who the hell is that?” she asked, watching as Silky sat on the side of the bed.

“The only niggas bold enough to bang on your door like that in the heat of the night is 12. Put on some clothes, and don’t leave this room until I tell you to.”

Siara nodded, but there was no part of her that wanted to let Silky handle this himself. Though he’d earned her submission, they were partners against problems within their marriage. And if the police were showing up at their house at three o’clock in the morning, Siara wanted to know why.

Quickly, they both leaped from their seats. Silky placed his finger on his lips, telling her to keep silent. She watched as he grabbed his phone, probably checking to see if he had any warrants. Those days were long gone, though. Ever since he’d gone to Howard, Silky had stayed out of trouble.

Before she could finish putting on the top to her pajamas, their front door was being kicked in. Silky’s calm demeanor was beginning to fade away, apparent by the way he tossed his phone onto the bed and stalked out of the room. She grabbed his phone, opened the camera, and began to record as she followed him down the hall.
