Mimics & Mayhem(13)
Author: Maz Maddox

Danny bucked me forward and sat up, catching me around the waist to ease me down onto the mattress. He stayed buried deep as he pressed my front down into his bed. My chest pressed down onto his blankets, and I spread my legs as wide as they could go. The friction of my cock against his blanket made me groan, and I rolled my hips up and back, pushing him into me more.

I got a honey moan from him, and it made me grin. I wasn’t able to keep it long because I yelped in delight as he grabbed me by the hips and drove into me hard. I gripped the blanket with both fists as he fucked me, pushing back against his onslaught as he repeatedly nailed my spot. The ache was ripping through me, sharp and bright against the warm heat building at the base of my spine. It hurt so good, so fucking good that I felt tears starting to fall from my eyes as I begged for more.

Just at the very brink, at the point of feeling like my body was going to turn inside out from pain and pleasure, my world flipped as I did. Danny hooked my legs over his shoulders and bent me in half as he pressed down into me.

Our breaths tangled together as we gasped, and my fingers dug into the firm muscles of his flexing ass, urging him to give me all he had. All I could see was a firefly forest, gold flecks burning with the fire lit deep within. I couldn’t take my eyes off his, getting lost in the intensity of his gaze. I smelled cinnamon and sex, felt the slick sweat between us as our skin connected and slid together, but all I could see were those goddamn fireflies.

I tried to say his name, tried to whisper something to him, but I lost my breath as I was finally fucked right over the edge. My vision blurred as my eyes fluttered shut. My body pulsed with electric shocks as my cum coated our torsos, and I forced my hand between us so I could wring out a little more. I wanted the feeling to last. I wanted to ride the high for as long as I could.

Danny’s hips bucked, and he pressed his lips to mine in a stuttered kiss, his breath hitching as he poured into me. His heat filled me, and gods if I didn’t feel more tears fall from my eyes. It was like his release was soothing the ache inside. A shiver rolled through me at the sensation.

It made me come a little more.

Just before he pulled out, he kissed my wet cheeks, closed eyelids, and finally my lips. I wanted to pull him close and feel him against me again, but my bones had liquefied. My body was buzzing like a swarm of lazy bees as I listened to his hooves walk across the room. I woke up to the feeling of a cool rag cleaning me off and his throaty chuckle.

“Don’t fall asleep on me just yet.” He tugged the blanket I had leaked all over out from under my wonderfully sore ass and tossed a clean one over my cooling body. I hummed and rolled over to rest on my belly, watching his back flex and move as he rolled a cigarette up and licked the seam.

I held the blanket open for him so he could crawl into the warm confines. I tangled our legs together once he was snuggled up with me and ran my shin against his. It was fuzzy and wonderful. Putting the rolled cigarette to his lips, he struck a match and brought the flame up to its tip. The flicker of orange light danced over his features, casting a warm glow over his curls and handsome face.

The smoke that puffed from the end smelled like sweet licorice and curled upwards toward the ceiling as he leaned back into the pillows. I rested my chin on his shoulder and watched him inhale, shut his eyes, and hold his breath before exhaling the cloud through his lips. He pulled me close and passed me the cigarette so I could repeat the motion.

“You have a beautiful singing voice,” he said after a moment of blissful silence. The steady whisper of the nearby ocean was floating through the window, but I was listening to Danny’s heartbeat.

“You have a beautiful everything.”

He smirked, angling his lips toward me to get a soft, sweet kiss. For a stretch of time, I don’t know how long, we lay there together with our noses brushing, sharing soft, slow kisses, surrounded by licorice smoke and sleepy ocean waves. I brushed a curl from his forehead before taking another pull from the cigarette and passed it back to him. The delicious smoke was making my body warm and light and the ache in my ass less prominent.

There was another slow drag, long hold, and deep exhale from each of us before he spoke. “Do you have any family?”

“Not blood family.” I ran my hand over his chest as I settled against his side. “My mother died a while back, and it was always just us. She was my shining star, and I was her Scarlet Rose.” I laughed, surprised at myself, biting my lip as nerves raced through my stomach. “I’ve never told anyone that.”

“Your full name?” he guessed softly, and I nodded against his shoulder. “I’m honored to know it.”

“She was the only one who called me that. I was always this impossibly great thing in her eyes, but I think all mothers feel that way about their children.”

“I think she had it right.” He kissed the top of my head. “She sounded like a smart woman.”

“She was everything,” I whispered, swallowing back the sting of tears. “What about you? Satyrs usually have big families, right?”

His chest rose and fell with a long sigh. “We do. My family’s no exception. We’re scattered all over the place at this point, but we originated from Bonte Parish.”

“You’re a bayou boy?” I grinned at his eye roll.

“For the most part. We lived there a long stretch. I fell in love with a crocodile shifter who broke my heart, so I moved east.”

"What about the rest of your family?" I couldn't help but play with the line of hair down his belly.

"They're mostly back west. It's just me here." He moved his chin so he could lean his lips against my hairline. "You mentioned before that you had ’not blood’ family. Who did you leave behind?"

I smiled. "A gang of lawmen, a mayor, and some adoring fans. Stallion Ridge is the closest thing to a real home I've ever known."

"What's it like there? Is it a small town?"

"Oh, extremely, but it's growing fast. It's nothing like here. Most people walk around in their shifted forms, and they are the kindest folk you'd ever know." Gods, was that an understatement. I couldn't remember a day going hungry there or being worried about where I was going to lay my head at night. Sure, it was small, and you'd know everyone within the week of being there, but it had its charm. Its warmth.

And it had my family there.

I hadn't had much in the way of family until I drifted into that tiny town in the middle of nothing. My heart ached a little, but I pushed it away.

"Now I'm here," I whispered, snuggling closer to kiss his shoulder. "Right where I need to be."

When he kissed my forehead, I could feel the smile on his lips, even if I didn't look up to see. It made my insides fluffy and warm.

"How long will you stay?" His voice was gentle, almost careful. I looked up then, meeting those beautiful green eyes, and counted the little flecks.

"In bed or in New Haven?" I bit my lip. "’Cause I wasn't planning on going anywhere anytime soon."

His smirk changed into something a bit sweeter instead of flirty as he snagged his rolled cigarette and took a long inhale. I lifted my chin as he put his lips to mine and breathed out the sweet smoke. When I inhaled, it was delicious and bizarrely intimate. The feeling of his breath, tangled with the licorice cloud, filling my lungs made my toes curl. I held it as long as I could before letting it escape toward the ceiling.
