Visible Panther Line (Paranormal Dating Agency Book 27)(21)
Author: Milly Taiden

Sky blushed and leaned up to kiss him. “It was, but next time I get to taste you first.”

Damien grinned. “That’s a deal I can make.” He climbed off the bed. She could hear him in the bathroom. She stretched on the bed, relaxed and sated. He came back with a warm washcloth and ran it around her thighs, and across her lips. Damien gently rubbed around her clit, and her body stirred again.

She laughed lightly and watched as he walked back into the bathroom, then came back out and scooped her up in his arms. “Can I stay with you tonight?”

She nodded and wrapped her arms around his neck.

“Good.” Damien pulled the comforter and sheet down the bed, set her on the mattress and pulled the cover over her. She watched as he walked to the door and flipped the lock, then turned off the lights on his way to the bed. She loved watching the play of muscles under his skin as he moved; his taut ass as it flexed with each step. She could feel drool pooling in her mouth, he was gorgeous and all hers.

He climbed into the bed and under the covers, then pulled her close. ”Sleep, my love. Tomorrow we can talk more.”

Chapter Seventeen

Damien woke up with a smile, holding his mate all night long was better than he had expected. Waking up to her hot mouth on his body was even better.

“Damn, that’s not what I was expecting, but I’m not going to complain, mate.”

Sky’s eyes flashed up at him when he said mate. He took it as a sign she liked hearing the word as much as liked saying it.

She took him into her mouth and sucked as she lifted her head. Damien hissed out a moan and watched her every movement.

He lifted his hips, when she swirled her tongue around the tip of his cock. “I’m not going to last, baby.” He ran his hand across the top of her head and sat up. “It’s been too long for me, and your hot mouth is driving me crazy. I want to come inside your wet heat.” He pulled her up and across his lap.

Sky laughed and moved her legs to straddle his hips. Damien didn’t need any more encouragement. He lifted his hips, sliding his cock between her lips. He only stopped when they were both panting. “You’re in control, love. Set the pace.”

Sky licked her lips, put her hands on his chest and lifted herself. “You are so gorgeous, Damien.”

She quickly lowered herself and rocked into him, putting pressure on her clit, then lifted again. Over and over, she rose and dropped, her head thrown back, and Damien was in awe. This beautiful woman was his. He ran his hands over her chest, tweaking her nipples, and then sat up so he could pull one tight bud into his mouth.

“That feels so good,” she groaned.

He bit down lightly, then pulled his mouth off her, and trailed kisses to her other breast. He bit down on the nipple, and then swirled his tongue around it.

Sky’s breath came faster, and he knew she was close, but so was he. He ran his hand across her hip and flicked her clit, then again when she thrashed her head.

One more gentle tug of her clit, and she yelled out, Damien followed suit. Holding her hips tightly he surged up into her and yelled her name. “Fuck, Sky.”

She dropped onto his chest and giggled. “Good morning, Mr. Grimes.”

Damien laughed and hugged her tightly to him. “Good morning, mate.”

They lay like that for a few minutes, until the beep of a cell phone broke through their cuddling.

Sky sat up and looked around. “Is that mine or yours?”

Damien reached over to the nightstand and picked his up. “It’s mine.”

He scrolled through the missed calls and messages. The last one was from Sheriff Demogue. “The Sheriff texted. Says he needs me to meet him ASAP.” He looked up at Sky and grimaced. “I’m sorry, love. Can we talk over lunch? If it’s about the former Mayor, it could have something to do with the murder.”

Sky nodded and moved to sit next to him on the bed. Damien leaned over for a kiss and then jumped up to get dressed. The text message ran through his head.

Meet me at Mayor Jomen’s house ASAP.

Damien looked at Sky for a moment, and then turned leaving the room. As he waited for the elevator, he glanced around. No one was there, but he could smell the faintest hint of cologne. It smelled like the one that was around the warehouse. He walked to the stairwell and looked around, but didn’t see anyone. It could be a guest with bad taste, but it seemed to be too coincidental.

He pulled out his phone and sent a text back to the Sheriff. The same cologne I smelled at the warehouse is in the hallway outside Sky’s room. He rushed back to her door, knocking loudly. “I’m going to have Jackie’s mate come pick you up and take you to my friend’s house until I get there. Okay? I’ll have Misty meet you there.”

Sky nodded. “Okay.” But she looked confused. She shut the door quickly and tossed the deadbolt, Damien didn’t move until he heard it.

He took the stairs down to the lobby and looked into the dining room and bar area. He didn’t see anyone nor did he smell anything out of the ordinary. He glanced down at his phone. Patrick hadn’t viewed the message yet. He growled and called. It rang and rang with no answer at all. That wasn’t normal at all. Patrick always answered. He always considered it his duty to be available.

Damien punched in Eli’s number.

“What?”

“The Sheriff isn’t answering his phone. I need you to meet me at Mayor Jomen’s house. Patrick texted me and asked me to meet him there. Now he’s not answering.” Damien growled, “Can you call Lennon and ask him to pick up Sky and take her to their house. I want her safe.”

Damien heard Eli murmuring softly and he smiled. He was glad Eli had finally taken his advice, and he hated interrupting but he needed him desperately.

“Misty said she would get her and take her to Lennon and Jackie’s house. She hasn’t met Lennon so she might not trust him.” Eli laughed at something else she said, but Damien wasn’t willing to ask right then.

“See you there. Tell Misty thanks and congratulations.” Damien hung up his phone and sprinted out to his car. That worked. Sky would probably be more comfortable with Misty anyway.

Damien sped the five minutes to Mayor Jomen’s house. Again, he didn’t care if he got stopped. The more people around the better. He had a bad feeling something was wrong with Patrick.

In front of the house, he saw the Sheriff’s truck, nothing else looked out of normal. The street was empty though, no other houses, and that was the way the Mayor wanted it. The residents didn’t like him enough to fight him on it. Probably explained why he was able to get away with everything for so long.

He parked behind the truck and got out of his car. He glanced down the road to see if Eli was close yet. Depending on whose house he and Misty were at, it shouldn’t take him long to arrive. Damien pulled out his phone to call Patrick again while he waited. His phone connected and started ringing.

Damien heard ringing coming from a distance, and he quickly walked toward the sound. He glanced inside the truck but it didn’t sound like it was coming from there. To his right, he saw something shining in the grass, he quickly walked over and found Patrick’s phone, the front cracked, on the ground. Eli pulled in just then and hopped out of his truck. “What’s going on, Damien?”
