However, the real deal has me drooling a lot more than the banana I practiced on. John is super thick. A soda can comes to mind. Although that might be a bit of an exaggeration, but not by much.

Yet, I bob my head and use my hands as much as I can. He’s slick from my saliva, aiding me with each pass. I’m actually enjoying this. Especially when he reaches to wrap my braid around his fist.

It’s clear in his face that he’s on the verge of losing control. He’s trying to take it back, but I’m not having it. Relaxing my throat, I take him all the way in, my nose touching his pelvis.

I make a gagging sound, but I don’t back off. I shake my head from side to side while caressing him with my tongue, pulling a roar from him. The sound vibrates through his body and the room.

I back off and repeat. Feeling him swell in my mouth, I think to stop, but Pam and Paige’s voices ring in my ear. You don’t let up until you own him.

I snatch his soul just as I was taught, crumpling him to the floor. His knees give and he drops, popping from my lips as he sprays my throat and my face with his hot seed. I look him in his bewildered eyes with a smile on my lips as I wipe his sticky cum from my face and suck my fingers into my mouth.

His face says it all. His cheeks are flushed and the hair around his temple is soaked. He looks both lost and determined. My pussy weeps for the pleasure it’s been denied not once but three times.

I stand and start for my clothes. Using my shirt to clean my face of what I don’t catch with my tongue. “Let’s be clear. As long as I work for you, I’m not fucking you. That was just to show you what you fucked up,” I say over my shoulder.

He roars with laughter from the floor. I don’t turn as I get dressed for fear of the look in his eyes. I don’t like the sound of that laugh, it’s as if it’s a challenge.

“Once again, baby. You are mine and I am yours,” he says, making my heart twist. “But have it your way. When you’re ready, I promise you will be begging me to have mercy. You will pay for what you just did.”

I don’t reply. I storm out with him laying right where I left him. His laughing trails behind me.

“I won’t be ignored, Roni.” Is the last thing I hear rumbling behind me through his laughter.

Chapter 44

Your People

John

“I’m thinking about taking advantage of the gym tonight,” Noah says. “Any takers?”

We’re all sitting around a few tables in the dining hall of the training facility. We’ve had dinner and haven’t moved from our seats yet. Nellie, Bean, Heather, and Kamara are chatting with Mom as Dad, my brothers, and I sit back, sipping a few beers.

Wyatt has Nora in his arms as she sleeps soundly through all our loud banter. Toby’s twins took off with Nate after he offered to play them a movie in the theater. That made their night.

“I’ll pass. This is my last beer too. I’m going to get Nellie and Nora to bed,” Wyatt says, kissing the top of his daughter’s head.

“I’m not a baby,” Nellie says.

“But the way your lids have been drooping, you might as well be,” Brax teases.

Nellie sticks her tongue out and waves him off. I snort and turn my gaze back to where it’s been for the last hour. Or should I say on who it’s been on. I’ve followed her every move.

“What are you looking at?” Ry says and tosses a napkin at me.

I haven’t taken my eyes off Roni since she walked in with Uri, Luca, Shannon, and Val. Her group all came to join us, but Roni hung back, observing from a distance. She ate alone, not even Torque would enter her space tonight.

He trailed in not long after Roni and the others, but I watched him pile his plate high and leave the same way he came. I have to say, these trainees are spoiled rotten with the meals here. However, it’s not the food I’m hungry for.

I’m pissed Roni would rather eat alone than come anywhere next to me. Especially when she looks the way she does. The leather looking skin-tight pants, top that exposes her belly, and stiletto heeled ankle boots have almost broken my restraint.

My mind keeps going back to earlier in the armory. I tighten my fist as I think of the lie Missy told her. Roni is the only woman I’ve wanted to claim as my girl in years. Not a Sub, my woman.

I narrow my eyes on her as she glares back. She’s still pissed at me, despite me telling her the truth. I’ll give her space to sort her feelings out. I know she’s stubborn as fuck.

I’m waiting for her to come to me. That is until all of my family turns their attention to what I’m hungrily staring at. Roni pushes from the doorway she’d been watching us from and spins on her heels to leave.

“Oh, shit. That’s guns,” Ry calls out. “Wait, she’s here?”

“Who?” Noah says.

Mom laughs as I rise and start after Roni. “Whoever she is, the two haven’t been able to stop eye fucking each other.”

“Oh my God. That’s her. The girl from the wedding,” Nellie gasps.

“Our wedding? Wait, that’s Roni?” Wyatt replies.

“She’s been to Cali to see him too.”

“Mind your business, Ry,” I call over my shoulder. I can hear the humor in his voice.

He’s the one that sees everything. My relationship with Roni hasn’t reached a place where prying from my family will help any, if at all. The less they know the better.

A mix of my brother’s laughter follows me. “So, it is a woman,” Noah says before I’m out of earshot.

Roni

I head downstairs and to the back of the grounds, in need of some fresh air. My mind is reeling. I’m trying to reconcile my assumptions with what I now know about John.

Thinking about Val, she and most of her friends are married to white men. Although I know a few of them are mixed themselves. However, I wasn’t expecting to see John with his family and the Black women on the arms of at least three of his brothers.

They have little brown kids with them too. I can’t help wondering if I would have felt so out of place at those weddings he invited me to. I step to the stone railing on the massive back deck.

Bending to lean against it on my forearms, I get lost in my thoughts and lift my head to stare up at the stars. I feel him the moment he steps outside. I hate that I always seem to sense his nearness.

John’s scent tells me that I’m not mistaken in who has joined me. It’s the first thing to envelope me. Stepping up behind me, he places his palms on the railing on either side of my elbows, causing his hips to nestle against my ass. Comfort and warmth settle over me immediately.

With a frown, I straighten and turn to face him. Placing a hand on his chest, I shove him back. He doesn’t budge more than a few inches.

As if it’s the most natural thing in the world, he cups my face and plants a kiss on my forehead. He remains silent, allowing his lips to linger before taking a step back and crossing his arms over his chest. I glare up at him.

“So that’s your people?”

“Yeah, that’s my family.” He wrinkles his brows. “Why’d you take off? They don’t bite.”

“They don’t know about me. You still haven’t told them about me. Why would I come over there?”
