Bear's Forever (Infernal Sons MC #1)(11)
Author: Carol Dawn

I help her off the bike and hold on to her shoulders to keep her steady. The first few times on a bike is a shock to the body. Seeing she's steady, I give her a small smile and put my hand on her back to guide her forward.

The first thing I notice when we walk inside is that all the brothers are hanging around the couches and eating. Then I notice something that pisses me the fuck off.

“What the fuck are the bunnies doing here?” I yell.

Every head turns in my direction. Rose makes a small noise and pushes her small body closer to mine. Wrapping my arm fully around her, I hold her tight.

“I said, what the fuck are the bunnies doing here? Someone better answer my fucking question.”

“There was a party last night, Prez.”

Looking at the man who was stupid enough to answer my question, I say, “there was a party...last night. It is now almost three in the afternoon. Listen up, because this will be the last time I repeat myself. There are to be NO... bunnies...in the fucking clubhouse...during the fucking day. Am. I. Clear?”

“Yea, Prez.”

“Get them out...Now!”

Taking a deep breath in to calm myself, I look at Rose.

“It's all right sweet Rose,” I smile down at her shaking body. “I got you. Come on, let's grab something to eat.”

We walk toward the kitchen when I'm stopped by a female body pressed against my front. She boldly grabs me over my denim pants and caresses her hand up and down my bulge.

“Hey there sexy, why don't ya take me back to your room and we can have a repeat of last time.”

“Carrie...move,” I growl.

Rose tries pulling away from me, but I'm not having that one bit. Squeezing her a little tighter I use my other hand to remove Carrie's grabby one.

“Leave.”

“I didn't know ya had a sister, Bear. She's awfully pretty. She can keep the guys entertained long enough for me to give ya what ya need. I'll do that thing with my tongue that drives ya wild. Blondie here don't mind, do ya sugar?”

Any other time I would have rushed her upstairs to my room and had her on her knees. Carrie is the only bunny I fuck these days. Only one for the past year. I told her from the start I wasn't looking for an ol' lady, I wasn't looking to settle down with her. She said she was fine with it. She even spreads those long legs for the other brothers whenever they ask. It doesn't bother me one bit.

We respect our women. Ol' lady's, the women in a long-term relationship with a patched brother. Club bunnies, the women who willingly come around during parties or downtime and give her time and body freely to any brother.

Then there's Princess. We rescued this girl from an abusive home last year. Her father was a sadistic fuck. He tried getting her pregnant saying he was receiving messages from God. She was fourteen. Luckily, we got her out, and she's been with us ever since. I keep telling her she doesn't have to work for our protection, but I've given up hope in trying to make her see sense. She keeps the brothers fed most days.

We protect our bunnies; we respect them, but they are our entertainment. Not members of my club. The only females allowed to be here during normal hours are ol' lady's, Princess, Ma, and now my sweet Rose.

“OUT...NOW!” I yell.

That got her moving. With Carrie finally running out the door, I take Rose over to meet Princess and get something to eat.

“Have a seat, baby,” I tell her.

I can't help but chuckle as she tries to scoot into the chair. She's so tiny. Even fifteen-year-old Princess is taller than Rose.

“Hey there, Bear.” Speaking of Princess.

“Hey, Princess,” I grin.

“I told you to stop calling me that. I'm way too old to be called Princess. Can't I have a super awesome name like Claws? Or I would even be happy with Kitten,” Princess grumps.

“Not gonna happen, Princess,” Hawk says as he flops on the other side of Rose. “You don't get to pick your own club name. It's not how it works.”

“Didn't you and Bear pick your own club names?” she asks.

I hear Hawk chuckle before he says, “Nope, they were picked before we were born. Bear and Hawk are our middle names.”

“How would you feel about making a couple of extra plates, Princess?” I ask.

“I'm on it,” she says as she walks over to where we're sitting. “Hi, I'm Sally, but the boys here call me Princess.”

“Hello.”

Princess waits a few seconds before she speaks again. “Well, girl, is there something I can call you?” Princess says with a small giggle.

Rose goes from relaxing with a small smile to deathly pale and sitting up straight, her hands folded onto her lap and her gaze to the floor.

What the fuck?

I'm standing in front of her before I can form my next thought. Pulling her hair behind her shoulder with one hand and grasping her chin with the other, I lift until she's eye level with me.

“Talk to me,” I demand.

“It's just a silly reaction. I'm fine. I promise,” she whispers.

“Tell us what caused the reaction, so we make sure it doesn't happen again,” I hear Princess say. There is a small age difference, but maybe Princess and Rose can help each other out. They both have pieces of shit fathers.

To my surprise, Rose reaches out and grabs my hand and squeezes tight with both of hers before placing them on her lap. I'm both shocked and happy that she made such a bold move.

“It's just that...um...well, my father always calls me girl, and when, um, would you rather I call you Sally or Princess,” Rose asks while looking at the young girl.

“I grump at the guys for calling me Princess all the time,” she tells Rose before leaning in as if she’s about to tell a huge secret. “But I secretly love the fact that I was cared for enough that someone gave me a nickname.”

“I can understand that. So, when Princess,” Rose gives Princess a small grin. “When she used the term girl, I guess I just went into a sort of trance.”

“Like you've been hypnotized?” Slim asks from behind Rose. He's been standing behind her for a while now, listening.

Rose squeals and turns fast to see who's behind her. The movement costs her and she gasps.

“Be careful, baby. Don't want to make those worse,” I say. “That's just Slim. He's why we had to come here before heading to Ma's.”

“Oh,” she whispers. Slim walks around to stand beside Princess. “Uh, no. It's not like I was hypnotized, per se. According to some books I've read, when a person is hypnotized, they are intensely focused on what they're doing but at the same time not worrying about it. When I hear certain words, voices or I know something bad is about to happen and there isn't anything I can do to stop it, I pull back mentally. I'm here physically, and my body follows the motions, but inside here,” she points to her head, “I hide until it's safe. If I never did that, I would have lost myself to insanity years ago.”

I stand there, my hand still in both of hers, and for the first time in my life, I'm speechless and so fucking proud. I know how scared she is. She's told me she's never seen the outside world. Even something as normal as a car ride was hard for her. Yet, here she sits, in a room full of scary-ass bikers and she talks about something so deep and emotional. Every ear was on her as she spoke. Her voice getting louder and more confident with every word.
