Blood Lust (Royal Bastards MC Baltimore #5)(5)
Author: Erin Trejo

I watched as he laid there gasping for air, but it wasn’t his struggle that called out to me. It was the sight of the blood as it pumped out of him with each beat of his heart. It was the way the warmth of his body slowly left him and the coldness swept in.

I yearned for it after that day. I tried to control it. I tried to keep it at bay, but being a fifteen-year-old boy who had killed someone, you can’t hold those feelings in. I had nowhere to turn for help. I couldn’t ask my mother. She watched what I did to him. She watched the life leave him and then she watched his blood lust slowly seep into me. She didn’t know how to handle me. It was as if she was scared of me. It made me feel superior.

I went on with life. I tried to ignore the cravings plaguing me. Instead of killing people, I turned to animals. A rabbit here, a cat there. I killed a cow once. It was huge and the amount of blood that flowed from it was astonishing.

After that, my world started to revolve around blood; I wanted it in whatever form I could get it. As I got older, animals just weren’t doing it anymore. My dick would get hard thinking about slitting the little sluts’ throat who sat next to me in high school. Images of the girl standing in front of me in line to pay for fucking gas started to take over my life. They wouldn’t stop, until one day I found my purpose, putting my lust to use and satiating my cravings at the same time.

I met Demon shortly after that. I was out behind the bar with a girl. I was fucking her into submission; the thought of her blood on my skin overwhelmed me. I did it. I slit her throat. Demon watched it all. I didn’t stop though. I kept going. I fucked her while her blood soaked through my clothes and coated my skin. It was the high of a fucking lifetime.

Demon stepped up and I was scared shitless I was going to jail, but instead he helped me clean it up. He called in his boys to take care of my mess. He took me in after that. He showed me his way of life. He made me a promise that he’d never let me get in trouble if I joined his club.

He actually wanted me to kill people. Imagine that shit. The one thing that you have always wanted to do is now at your disposal. I ran with the idea. He gave me a place to safely kill and it wasn’t without restrictions. He called the shots; I took care of the problems. That worked for a while. It kept my monster tamed, but eventually, the sex started playing a role in my need. I wanted it but I wanted to fuck while I watched the life drain from a woman. Any woman.

Demon’s kills were mostly men, which I took satisfaction in, but in my off time, I needed the touch of a woman.

“You got your head in the game?” Bic asks as we cut the bikes off, bringing me back to the present.

That ride didn’t take as long as I thought it would, but I guess when your mind is consumed with darkness, you lose track of time. I pull my helmet off and hang it from the handle bars.

“Yeah, I’m always in the game, brother. Let’s handle this shit, I got shit to do at home,” I say, lighting up a cigarette.

Bic stares me down before he says, “You got shit to handle at home or someone to handle?”

I cut my eyes at him, wondering what he knows. Does he know what I get off on? No, he couldn’t because if he did, he wouldn’t be questioning me.

“Why are you always askin’ me shit? You have somethin’ you want to say to me?” I ask, feeling a little defensive. I’m tired of the way he looks at me, tired of the questions and the glares.

“No. I just see the way you are.”

“Fuck that, Bic. What are you tryin’ to get at here?” I snap. He’s making me lose my patience and that’s never a good thing.

“There’s somethin’ goin’ on with you, Drake. We all see it. You’re off in your own goddamn head most days. You take your frustrations out on the girls.”

I run my hand through my hair, my cigarette hanging from my lips.

“Have I ever let the club down, Bic? Have I ever not handled business?” I ask, getting a little more pissed by the second. Here I was doing pretty good and now he’s fucking with that.

Bic drops his head before slowly bringing it back up. His eyes lock with mine.

“You’re right, brother. I shouldn’t have said that shit. You always put the club first. I get it. We all get to a point that we need a release.”

Stupid fucking fool. Sometimes I wonder why Demon keeps this fuck around. He’s such a waste of air.

“Exactly. I have never once disrespected my goddamn club! You need to watch who it is you’re talkin’ to like that, Bic. I have no fuckin’ problem puttin’ a bullet in your head or havin’ Demon pull your patch,” I warn him as I point at him. He nods his head. He knows I’ll do it. I don’t give one shit about that man. He may be my brother in this club, but that means nothing when I want blood.

I turn on my heel and walk back toward the door when I see this chapter’s president, Gary, walk out. He has a smirk on his face, which makes me smile.

“Sent the best of the best,” he announces before pulling me into a hug.

“Goddamn right. You know how it is,” I reply, slapping a hand on his back.

“You heard what we’re up against, yeah?”

“Got a thief in the mix. Then the fuckin’ rat that squealed on him.” Gary nods, letting a little huff escape him.

“You see how that works. You tell on a brother for some twisted shit, you die, too. That seem right to you?” he asks me with a grin. He knows the answer to that one.

“Welcome to club life, brother.” Gary slaps a hand on my shoulder before leading me inside.

“Let’s get a beer and catch up before we handle business.”

Chapter 5

“This club is held to high standards. We pride ourselves on maintain’ a brotherhood to be proud of. When a brother disrespects his place in this club, he disrespects all of us,” Gary declares as I stand by his side. We’re here for backup. We’re here because we’re the mother chapter. Demon typically handles these kinds of things, but with new gun shipments coming in, he’s needed back home. That puts me in the top spot, something I don’t mind.

“He put us in a position to make decisions that don’t come lightly for us. It’s a hard thing when you have to strip a brother of his patch. It’s another when you have to take his life. As the mother chapter, that falls onto this man,” Gary says, slapping a hand on my shoulder before he continues. “He makes the final call. He pulls the fuckin’ trigger.”

I step up in front of him before I sigh.

“It doesn’t give me a fuckin’ thrill to come here for this shit.” That’s a fucking lie. “It doesn’t bring me joy to have to remove a brother for what he’s done.” Another even bigger lie. “But we’re family and family doesn’t turn their backs on each other. They don’t betray the hand that feeds them. Mark and Boone. Step the fuck up here,” I roar through the crowd. The gasps aren’t missed. They didn’t know who was going down today. They knew something was up though. I watch as the men walk toward the front of the room. My heart hammers in my chest but not from fear.

“You betrayed your family. You fucked them over and now you will pay. Got anything you wanna say?” I ask looking between the two of them. Neither of them says a fucking word.
