Beautiful Deceit (Watch Me Burn #3)(54)
Author: R.E. Bond

Razor backed away with a smirk, Bring the Ruckus by Manafest suddenly blasting through the shed to start the show, making people cheer and scream as the guy advanced on me.

He was bigger than me, but bigger didn’t always mean better.

I dodged his hits and observed him, learning how he moved and his weak spots, before finally swinging at him, surprising him as I got some good hits in.

He was good, but he was slow at reacting.

I backed off, circling him before attacking again, tripping him up and kneeing him hard in the side of the head to knock him out.

I didn’t do a victory dance, because I knew it was only round one.

Razor looked amused as his guys dragged the downed fighter out, sending another one in straight away.

I used the same method with him, learning his fighting style before attacking, hoping to wear them out in the process.

I took more hits back from the second guy than I did with the first, but he eventually hit the ground hard, causing people to boo at me.

It wasn’t my fault that the Soldiers sucked and couldn’t even win against an eighteen-year-old girl.

I was starting to hurt, but I didn’t let them know that as I bounced around the cage to keep the adrenaline moving through my body as the next guy walked in.

I knew I was fucked when another guy walked in with him, a smirk on his face as his friend managed to get hold of my arms so he could get solid hits in.

Every time I went down, I forced myself to get back up, glaring at Razor who was right by the cage, enjoying my pain.

I figured he wouldn’t do his own dirty work.

He chuckled, his eyes flashing with cruelty that I hadn’t seen from him in a while.

“Ready to give up yet, Donovan?”

I spat blood and wiped my mouth with a growl.

“Fuck you.”

“Just say when, and I’m all yours, babe,” he winked, pissing me off with his cockiness.

He was such a fucking asshole.

I swung at one of the guys, startling him, but his friend put me on my ass, and this time he didn’t stop.

I could hear people laughing over the loud music, but it finally started to go quiet as my vision dimmed.

I managed to kick him away, standing slowly on shaky legs, but his leg swung around, kicking me in the head and knocking me out instantly.

Chapter 10

Rory

“Jesus Christ, take her in for fuck’s sake!”

I stirred, my body aching and causing a groan of pain to leave me.

Where was I?

“Donovan? Hey, I’ve got you, babe. Don’t move, okay?” A familiar voice said, but I could hear the emotion in their voice.

They were scared, which made me scared.

“Diesel?” I managed to get out, struggling to see him through my swollen eyes, but he moved into my vision more, and I could see the panic all over his face.

“Yeah, it’s me. I’ll get you to the hospital, okay? We…”

“We aren’t doing fucking shit for her. She brought it on herself,” Skeeter’s voice lashed through the air, making my heart ache along with everything else.

Diesel growled, turning to who I assumed was Skeeter.

“She’s had the fucking shit kicked out of her, and they just dropped her here! They don’t give a shit about her!” He exclaimed, not bothering to hide his emotions.

My best friend was scared shitless for me.

“No? Sucks to be her then, because neither do I. Get back inside,” Skeeter ordered, not giving me a second thought.

“I’m not leaving her outside to bleed out, Skeet. I’m sorry, but…,” Diesel said hopelessly, knowing it was no use.

Skeeter had cut me off, so I was now the enemy.

“You’re sorry? Good for you. Get the fuck inside and get the fuck away from her. She’s a fucking traitor, and this is what she wanted. She doesn’t want our help, so leave her.”

His voice was full of hate, and as much as I didn’t blame him, it hurt to know he’d really cut me loose.

I laid there in pain as they argued, my head throbbing as I almost blacked out again, but a hand touched my shoulder gently, making me groan at the sharp pain it gave me.

I heard a snort, just before Marco’s voice reached my ears.

Pretty sure he was the one touching me, but I wasn’t too sure.

“Don’t worry, D. I’ve got her.”

Something crashed close by, and Skeeter bellowed.

“No one fucking helps her!”

I cried out as pain jolted through me as someone picked me up, cradling me against their solid chest.

“We’re friends and all, Skeet, but you’re not my fucking boss. Hunter would never tell me to leave her outside like this. If you really believe she’d turn her back on you for no reason, you’re dumber than you fucking look. Think about what you’re saying, man. You want us to all leave her bleeding outside your fucking shed, because you’re throwing a tantrum? Because she isn’t fucking you anymore? Don’t worry, you can go back to your little party, I’ll run her in to get help so your big tough guy attitude isn’t fucking tarnished,” Marco spat, his voice full of sarcasm and anger.

Why was he helping me?

What the fuck was going on?

“Fuck you, Ortega,” Skeeter bit out, something smashing close by again.

Probably a beer bottle.

“You wish, asshole,” Marco snapped before moving away from him, silently taking me to his car, trying hard not to hurt me too much as he placed me safely inside it.

He drove carefully, apologizing every time we hit a bump and I groaned.

I zoned in and out of consciousness, listening to him barking orders down the phone the whole way.

What the fuck happened?

I was with the Soldiers, so I had no idea how I’d ended up at the Psycho’s shed.

Did Diesel say they dumped me?

“Donovan, the hell happened? Actually, don’t talk. I don’t know if your jaw’s broken or anything. Fuck!” He shouted, slamming his hands against the wheel with frustration.

I knew it wasn’t broken, so I took a breath and tried to speak clearly.

“My jaw’s hurting like a bitch, but it’s not broken, Mark. Why are you helping me? I…”

“Stop talking, you’ll hurt yourself more. I’m helping you because it’s what family fucking does, babe. I know something’s going on with Razor, but I don’t think it’s what you want, and neither does Diesel. Razor’s got something on you and I’m going to fucking find out what it is when I track that fucker down and beat it out of him. Did he do this to you?”

Shit, shit, shit.

“Don’t. Leave Razor alone, he didn’t hurt me,” I begged, hating the whine in my tone.

“But he instigated it, right? He let you get hurt?” He asked tightly, slamming his hands against the wheel again when I stayed silent. “Do you want the hospital or our doc? I forgot to ask.”

I panicked.

I couldn’t go to the hospital and have my name plastered on things.

Not with the record I had accumulated over the past six months or so, and not now that I was well known as a member of the Psychos.

They’d drag the Devils and Psychos in for sure.

“Your guy.”
