Shattered Souls(99)
Author: B C Morgan

“All of you, and it hurts. Just let me go, please.” My head falls as she pushes past Aeron and Tucker.

We could have stopped her easily, but we didn’t even try. Maybe we’re all in a state of shock because, fuck me, Star loves me.

Ten minutes pass before anything is said. I still can’t get out of my own head, I think I may be in shock. I never expected this.

“Emmet, you said yourself we need to keep her safe. With Tom gone, we’re down a man,” Aeron drawls, looking at Thallon, who sees more than he should, I’m sure.

“Not him. We’ll never need his help.” I slam Aeron up against the wall. Pressing my forearm into his throat, and all he does is smile.

“You can’t always be around. What happens then? Do you want me to just leave her to suffer?” Thallon steps closer, pushing me to the point where I know I won’t be able to come back from.

“There will never come a time where we, where Luna, will need you. If you can get to her, then we can,” I growl out, as Tucker pulls me away from Aeron, and pushes me back a few steps.

“Oh right, because Tucker doesn’t leave every evening, and on weekends. You don’t try to run this place when your dad is away, and Aeron isn’t lurking in the shadows storing secrets to use against people should the time ever present itself where he needs them. Sorry, my mistake.” He snickers, and my knuckles pop, as I draw my fist back, only to have my arm pulled and shoved behind my back by Tucker.

“He has a point, Emmet. We’re never around when she needs us the most. All we do is push her into dangerous situations that she should never fall into. Darius isn’t even here anymore.” He releases me and runs a hand down his face.

“It’s my decision, and I say no. Now fuck off, and stay gone until I calm down. Otherwise, I won't let any of you near her,” I snarl the words, right as a firework rings through the air, and a shout quickly follows.

“What the fuck?” Thallon moves over to the window, and slams his palm against it.

“The missing fireworks. Come on, Mett, we better figure out what is going on.” Aeron strolls out of the room and we follow him.

“I mean it, Thallon. Stay the hell away from my girl.” I shove him out of my way before stalking down the hallway.

Looks like someone is in need of a punishment, and I’m in the perfect mood to fill the void.

Off With A Bang

Luna

I can’t believe I told them I loved them, and like that. What was I thinking? There had to be a better way to do it, I mean, I didn’t even realize how true those words were until they poured out of me. I don't even tell them to hear it back, other than Aeron, I don’t really expect those words from these guys. I mean, I don’t expect them from Aeron, but I know he means it when he tells me he loves me. He wouldn’t have touched me the way he did if they weren’t true.

Damn it, I clearly have no control over my emotions or reactions. If I did, then I wouldn’t feel this way. It wouldn’t hurt, and I wouldn’t be stalking around outside trying to clear my head. It shouldn’t matter what they think of my declaration, but it does. At heart, I’m just a typical girl. I want to be loved, to hear those words and to be held when everything hurts. Sure, I’m not the same girl I seem to be, and this proves it even more.

Love from a guy was never high on my list of priorities, I didn’t need it to survive or get by in life. I still don’t, but it doesn’t mean I don’t crave it. That I don’t have this deep desire to hear all three of them tell me that my feelings aren’t one sided. That I’m not a novelty, a pet. That I matter. I think it’s fair to blame Tom for this, before him I was more than okay with a one sided crush. Then he threw my love in my face, used the way I felt to try and get ahead, and I have a nagging suspicion that despite what I want, our story isn’t over. How can it be, after the way he behaved at New Year? I’m surprised it took him that long, not that I’m about to complain about it.

“Oh look who it is, the pet. Should have known you were after the top spot, always have to watch the quiet ones,” Five circles me, as Eight, Nine, and Ten, start to close me in.

“I d-didn’t ask f-f-for this. I c-c-can’t help that E-e-emmet claimed me.” I clench my hands at my sides, trying to control my nerves. Run. It feels like my only choice, and if that means punching my way through, then I will.

“One, the true One, may not be allowed to touch you. But we’ve had no such orders, have we, girls?” Five smiles slyly at me, as the others agree with matching looks on their faces.

“I won’t let you hurt me. I’ll f-fight back.”

“You can try,” she says, as I spin around to find Eight pulling out a piece of wood from behind her back. One strike to my face is all it takes to knock me down, and my vision to go black.

I really need to stop being hit. Seriously, it’s getting ridiculous at this point. I can feel something warm and wet sliding down my face, and no doubt it’s blood. Because a cut to the head was what I needed to really set the bruised and battered look off. Clearly, they thought something was missing. Hopefully, this is enough to satisfy the demons they don’t even try to hide inside.

I try to move my arms, but they're pinned down, spread out either side of me like a cross. My legs won’t move either, I look over and my stomach somersaults as I take in what they’ve strapped to me, no, no, no. This has to be a joke, just another mind game. They wouldn’t actually do this, would they?

A fizzing sound hits my ears, right before a firework hits the sky, and explodes above us.

“You imbecile, now they’re going to come looking for us. Just get her lit,” Five orders, before she spits on my face.

“It won’t light. What do you want me to do?” Eight snaps back, as I stare at the fireworks strapped to my wrists and down on my legs. I don’t think they are joking, they’re planning on lighting those fuckers up, and me along with it.

“Maybe if you hadn’t set one off, we wouldn't have to worry. Just get it done you stupid little bitch.” Five crouches down beside me, before scoring her nails down my bare arm, breaking skin and drawing blood. “I think you’ll look better as a firework. We’ll let you go off with a real bang,” she cackles like the witch she is, as I try pointlessly to pull my arms free.

“You’re sick, all of you,” I shout, but it only makes them laugh harder.

“Got it, the fucker is lit,” Eight says with a hip pop, before marching over to me. Five locks her eyes with mine as I swallow hard. Even if they only get me lit, it doesn’t matter. I’m as good as dead.

A roar hits the air, Eight drops the match inches from the fuse before she’s thrown backwards. Her head hits the floor, and bounces like a ball before she goes still. Five screams, but it’s cut off as a hand wraps around her neck, and her feet leave the ground. My eyes hit Thallon, as he steps on the match and I can finally breathe again.

He launches her through the air, she hits the ground hard, as her head impacts with a tree and a smear of liquid runs down.
