Diving in Deep (Bay State University #2)(9)
Author: Katie Holland

“So. No one saw us anyway.”

“That’s all you have to say? Is everything alright in your head?”

She laughed. “Don’t make it more than it was Bodie. I could tell you’ve been a little frustrated lately and I thought you could use a little stress relief. Don’t worry. I don’t want to date you. I meant what I said about helping a friend out. That’s it.”

I looked at her and I could tell she was serious. “So, you can just suck me off and go right back to being friends like nothing happened?”

“Yeah. Can you?”

Could I? I thought about it for a minute and I wasn’t sure. It wasn’t just the fact that she’d just given me a blowjob in public, but the fact that I could still remember the feel of her naked body pressed against mine. I realized that she wasn’t the one that was making this awkward, I was, and I didn’t want to be that guy.

“Yeah, of course, I can,” I said trying to convince myself.

“Have you never been friends with someone you’ve had sex with?” she asked me.

“No. I usually find someone for the night and that’s it,” I admitted.

“You’ve never even tried dating someone?”

I shook my head. “Too much work,” I said. “And honestly, I don’t think I’m dating material. I like to have fun and want to do that while I’m still young to do it.”

Karma smiled at me. “I get that. The longest relationship I’ve ever had is about a month. That was back in my junior year. I like to have fun, too, Bodie, so relax. Maybe you can get me back one day.”

I had to smile at the wink she gave me. “Yeah, maybe. I’ve never met anyone quite like you Karma,” I told her.

“I know. I’m one of a kind.”

I laughed. “You sure are.”

And with those words, things seemed back to normal, well as normal as they ever got with me and Karma.

Chapter 7

Karma

I was trying to act all cool, but inside I was doing a little happy dance. I was able to throw Bodie off his game and I’m sure he wasn’t used to that. He was one of those guys that was always so sure of himself, and the fact that I could fluster him had me cackling like a witch. I know, I have a strange sense of humor.

“What’s put that smile on your face?” Gabbi said, sitting down beside me.

“Just thinking of something that happened earlier. Having fun?” I said.

“Yeah. Good thing I had a nap earlier,” she laughed. “I’m so looking forward to sleeping in tomorrow.”

“Didn’t find a hot guy to take home?”

“No,” she said. “That’s not really my thing.”

“Oh. Are you a lesbian?”

“No,” she said with a smile. “I meant, that I don’t really do one-night stands.”

“Like never?”

“I did once, and it was just awful. It was so awkward, I decided to just not do it again.”

“One experience shouldn’t stop you. I do it all the time and I love it,” I told her. “I think you should give it another chance.”

“I’ll think about it, but I highly doubt it,” Gabbi said.

“To each their own,” I said, clinking my glass with hers. “Wanna dance?”

“I think I need a break,” she said.

“Okay, see you in a bit.”

I headed to the dance floor to find a partner. So far, there had been several possibilities for guys I’d want to spend the night with, but the night wasn’t over yet. I stepped on the dance floor and started moving, not caring that I was dancing by myself.

A few minutes later, I wasn’t alone anymore. A tall, very hot guy was pulling me close to him.

“Can I join you?” he said, in my ear.

“Yes,” I said, liking the feel of him against me.

“I’m Anthony,” he said.

I loved his deep voice. “I’m Karma.”

We danced for a few songs before he whispered in my ear, “Want to get out of here?”

“God, yes please,” I said back. “I just have to tell my friends I’m leaving.”

He nodded and followed me to the table. Bodie was the only one there again.

“Hey, Bodie, can you tell Kayleigh that I’m heading out and I’ll be home tomorrow.” He looked a little shocked, but nodded his head. “Thanks,” I said and left the table. “I’m all yours, let’s go.”

I followed Anthony out of the club to his fancy sports car.

“Nice ride,” I said getting in. “Do you live close to here?”

“Not too far,” he said. “You a college student?”

“Yep, you?”

“Graduated last year from Bay State.”

“Cool. This is my first year.”

“Are you sure you’re okay coming back to my place? We can always go to yours.”

“I’m fine. My roommate wore her sex boots tonight so I’m trying to stay away from the dorm.”

“Sex boots?” he said, with a laugh.

“Yeah, it’s a long story.”

He just nodded and started the car. We drove for about ten minutes, before he pulled into a driveway beside a very large house.

“Wow,” I said, getting out of the car. “Is this really your place? I thought you said you just graduated last year.”

“It’s actually my parent’s house. I live in the guest house behind the main one,” Anthony told me.

I’d never been anywhere that had a guest house, and I was eager to see what it was like.

I followed him through a gate. On the other side, I saw a huge pool and we walked down a lighted path that led to what I guessed was the guest house. He unlocked the door and turned on the light. I walked in and stared. The living room was bigger than our entire dorm room.

“So, what do you think?” he asked me.

“It’s … it’s … wow, Anthony. So far it’s amazing.”

I looked around. The colors were blues and greys. It gave the room a very calming effect.

“Did you decorate this?” I asked.

“No,” he said, with a small laugh. “If it was up to me there would be an 85” TV, pool table and black leather couches. My mom is an interior designer, so she has high standards, even for me.”

“So, more married man in his forties, and less bachelor pad,” I said with a smile.

“Yep, exactly,” he said smiling back. “Would you like to see the rest of the place?”

“Of course,” I told him. “I’ve always loved seeing other people’s homes.”

The “guest house” was at least twice the size of the house I grew up in Tulsa. The kitchen was beautiful, just like the rest of the place. We stopped when we got to the bedroom.

“And I suppose this is where all the magic happens?” I said with a grin.

“I like to think so,” he said, returning my smile. “Would you like a drink?”

“I’d love some water.”

“One bottle of water coming right up.”

I followed him back to the kitchen. He got me some water out of the fridge and clicked a remote. The room filled with soft music and I smiled.
