“It might help me understand.” So I can forgive you. Grant didn’t need to say it. Royce’s head tilted as he leaned in and his hand gripped Grant’s waist possessively before he pulled him close.

“His name is Yang Li and he’s a very dangerous man. He specializes in assassinations of potential defectors and double agents,” Royce explained very carefully. Grant should have panicked but he didn’t.

“Is he more dangerous than you?”

“He might think so. I don’t think he’s going to hurt you but he might use you to get to me,” Royce said. Grant gasped as he pointed at Royce.

“So the Lees might not be up to anything, unless they’re thinking of defecting. You’d know if they were double agents!” He deduced and Royce’s head tilted from side to side.

“It’s likely that they were bait to draw me here so Li could engage with me, because of their proximity to you,” he said. It was a scary thought but Grant wasn’t going to let that derail him.

“I’m going to trust you to do the right thing,” he stated and Royce groaned as he pecked at Grant’s lips.

“I’m going to do my best but I won’t let Sam use you or anyone else in Hopkins Creek as a pawn,” he warned.

“You didn’t ask China to send Sam,” Grant argued. Royce hissed as he raised Grant’s hand to his lips and kissed his knuckles. He seemed more relaxed and he was flirting and focused again.

“The Chinese government has a lot of good reasons to be mad at me,” he admitted but Grant held up his hand and made Royce wait as he drained his glass then put it in the dishwasher. He started it then pushed Royce out of the kitchen.

“Tell me it was all necessary for your mission,” Grant demanded as he backed Royce down the hall and around the stairs. Royce grinned as he stopped Grant and kissed him.

“Always,” he breathed against his lips.

“Good,” Grant said then pulled his phone from his back pocket as he steered Royce into the bedroom. He found Blow by Beyoncé and his pulse jumped and Royce’s eyes widened as it started.

“What are we doing?” Royce asked warily but his eyes sparkled with delight as Grant tossed his phone on the dresser and reached for him.

“You always seem to know what I need, when I’m getting tired or stressed out. I think I know how to make you feel better,” Grant mumbled. His cheeks burned and he couldn’t look at Royce but Grant knew how to ease his pain. Grant popped his shoulders and bounced in time with the beat as he reached for Royce’s collar.

“I had no idea you could dance,” Royce said and Grant nodded as he unbuttoned his shirt and swayed with the beat.

“I really enjoy dancing, I just don’t like doing it if people can see me. Except Audrey. We have dance parties when she’s home on Friday nights and I’m not too drained,” Grant stated as he unbuckled Royce’s belt. He locked his hips against Royce’s as he pulled the belt free then tossed it over his shoulder. Royce was spellbound as he allowed Grant to undress him.

“That’s such a shame, you’re an excellent dancer,” he said then slid out of his shirt as Grant pushed it over his shoulders. Grant pulled his t-shirt over his head and turned so he could press his ass against Royce’s groin.

“I’ll dance with you,” Grant said over his shoulder as his ass bounced provocatively. He pulled Royce’s hands around him and over his chest and was rewarded with a strained whimper. Royce groaned as he rocked with Grant and his hands spread and slid down his body.

“How could you ever think you were dry and dull?” He huffed against Grant’s ear as his fingers flicked at Grant’s belt and fly. Grant moaned as Royce’s hand pushed into the front of his boxers and gripped his hard-on.

“I’m pretty boring and an average dancer. I think you just like quiet guys who run away from you,” he murmured as he rolled his hips, grinding against Royce’s erection and his hand. Royce clicked his teeth and shushed scoldingly.

“I told you, it’s all a matter of context. A lot of people can dance but this feels like we’re sharing something secret or I’ve found a treasure,” he explained. Grant snorted as he turned and stretched toward Royce’s lips.

“I’m sure there are lots of men who’d love to give you a lap dance and a blow job,” he teased as he backed Royce toward the bed. Royce squinted as he considered then shook his head.

“Possibly but it wouldn’t be this hot. No one would ever expect to find something this spectacular hiding in Hopkins Creek,” he whispered as his lips brushed against Grant’s.

“If you say so,” Grant chuckled then turned and snapped his hips from side to side as he pushed his jeans and boxers down his legs then kicked them away. He made his ass bounce against Royce’s groin and his tortured whimper turned into a hoarse plea.

“Are you twerking?” He asked as he bit into his knuckle and Grant turned and pushed him back onto the bed.

“Wait until you see what else I can do. I’ve practiced to this song a lot,” Grant warned as his fingers pushed up Royce’s thighs and curled around the waist of his trousers then pulled them down his legs. Royce’s boxer briefs followed and Grant made a greedy sound as he lapped at his heavy, throbbing length. Grant sucked on the head and took Royce deep into his throat.

“Oh, God… Grant,” Royce moaned euphorically. Grant could feel the tension leave Royce’s body as his head lolled on the bed and he felt a rush of pride as he sucked and swirled his tongue. “Oh, my God,” Royce said loudly as he sat up and halted Grant. Grant raised his brows at him.

“What?”

“I need to see Walter Newberry,” Royce informed him and Grant’s face twisted as he looked at the clock.

“Now? He’s probably doing his naked thing. I accidentally showed up unannounced once and…” Grant shook his head but Royce wasn’t listening.

“Definitely not now and I’ve seen his livestream, it’s delightful,” he said absently and Grant really needed the conversation to change.

“Great… Do you want me to finish this or do you want to tell me why it’s suddenly so important that you speak to Walter?” He asked and Royce jumped as if he’d returned from a dream.

“No, no, no… It can wait until tomorrow morning. Sorry!” Royce leaned forward and pulled Grant’s lips to his and kissed him. “Thank you for helping me focus. I think I remembered something very important but it can definitely wait until tomorrow,” he murmured as he pecked at Grant’s lips.

“Thank goodness,” Grant said then straddled Royce and made sure he was done thinking about Walter for the rest of the night.

Chapter 34

“I can’t wait!” Royce whispered giddily as they drove over the bridge into Aspenville and Grant raised a brow.

“To talk to Walter?”

“Yes! Aren’t you excited?” Royce asked and leaned forward in anticipation as Grant parked in front of Walter’s house. Grant’s head cocked as he considered.

“Not particularly…” He began then paused. “Oh, fuck. The Midsummer’s Night Drink is coming up,” he recalled and his chin crashed into his chest as he groaned.
