Rock Block(48)
Author: Mickey Miller

“You’re blowing my mind like ten times over right now. I thought for sure you wouldn’t even think about settling down until you were like, thirty-four, like we talked about freshman year.”

“I’m going to be fine. Now, would you grab that crutch and hand it to me? It’s time to hobble on over to the baseball game.”

“Ugh, do we really have to? Baseball is so boring.”

“Luke’s pitching today. So yes, we have to go. C’mon, guys in tight pants…”

“Okay, fine. You’ve convinced me.”

The boys do look damn good in their tight white, purple, and gold uniforms.

Luke especially.

He’s on the mound today, and after a winter of baggy coats and hats I’ve forgotten the part about Luke that drives many women wild: he is a stud (and looks like one) on the mound. Chiseled jaw (he finally shaved his winter beard). Hello, gorgeous, a slim but strong build, long arms, and thick legs.

Yes he has a very nice butt. How can I describe the man on the mound in tight baseball pants and not mention that?

It’s a sight to behold and all the while I’m thinking about Janice’s question…

How could you get married to someone when you don’t know how sex with them would be?

It’s a fair question, I guess.

And after all of the other activities I’ve done with Luke, I do wonder what it would be like with him.

I’ve gotten to see this caring side of him, but as long as I’ve known him, he’s always had this dark edge to him.

I saw it behind his eyes when he looked up at me, going down on me in the hospital, and I knew he really couldn’t care less if someone walked in and saw us.

I feel it when I’m going down on him and he rolls past the point of no return with his orgasm, and he loses control, grips my ponytail and head and loses his normal gentle-giantness as he fucks my throat.

I love when I feel that dark part of him come out to play with me.

Like he’s tapping into the dark side. My dark side, too.

He throws another pitch.

Game over.

Games go quick when you have racing thoughts, apparently.

As he walks from the mound, his face catches mine and Luke wiggles his eyebrows with a smirk.

Although the team is in Orlando, Florida to play baseball, they also clearly don’t mind staying out late.

And, apparently Arizona State University, the team they were playing today, was supposed to be one of the top teams in the nation. You wouldn’t have known it because they could barely make contact with the ball with Luke on the mound.

Luke is surrounded all night by his teammates. It’s like they re-realized tonight that he’s a star on his way to the major leagues, a man amongst boys.

Seeing him in his element reminded me of that, too.

All winter, he was just Luke, my best-friend-turned guy I’m doing this crazy role play thing with.

Janice apparently has a thing for baseball players too, that neither she nor I knew about. It definitely helps that the ratio of hot guys to girls in this bar is very much in her favor. Go Janice.

So I’m sitting in a booth by myself watching the interactions when Ryan wanders up to me.

“Hey! Congratulations!” Ryan says with a big smile, tapping his finger. “That’s so crazy you two are getting married. I never saw that coming.”

“We just saw how in love you and Jennifer were,” I respond. “And I think it really changed something in us.”

Ryan flashes his eyes down and away, and my heart skips a beat. When he brings his eyes back to me, he rubs the back of his neck and I wonder if there could possibly be a chink in the man’s armor.

“Why do you say that, just like me and Jennifer?” he says.

“Well, I feel like college love is one type of love, you know? It’s a young age to fall for someone, but the fact that you two did it, well, we figured we were just as in love as you two were…so why not go for it?”

Luke would be super proud of me for the parallels I’m incepting right now.

When Ryan doesn’t say anything, I add, “So where is Jennifer, anyway?”

“Oh, she went down to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico for spring break.”

“Cool. Girls’ trip?”

“Yes, girls’ trip.”

“She didn’t want to just do spring break in Florida? It’s fun here.”

“Yes it is…but she was saying since it’s her last spring break as a single woman she wants to ‘get it in,’ whatever that means.”

My stomach curdles at the phrase. “What do you mean…single? You’re engaged.”

“Well, not ‘married.’ You know what I mean, right?”

“Yeah, totally,” I lie. Because now I’m feeling sorry for him. He knows this is not cool, and possibly has known for awhile.

I would never refer to myself as ‘single’ if I had a boyfriend, let alone was engaged. Heck, call me old-fashioned, I feel weird when I go on dates with multiple people in the same time frame.

Ryan sits down across from me, crosses his arms, and sighs deeply.

“Everything okay?” I ask, he looks tired and ready to relax.

He rubs his face. “Yeah. Of course. Just whipped from playing today. This hot Florida sun wears you out after you’ve been in the cold Midwest all winter. And catching for Rutledge is especially tough. He’s throwing harder this year. I had to ice my hand down after the game.”

He stirs his drink mindlessly. “What do you think of dating a future superstar?”

I look over at Luke, who is enthusiastically telling some story to his teammates at the bar. “I don’t.”

“What do you mean, you don’t?”

“I don’t think of it. I just think of dating Luke, my friend.”

The words come out mindlessly, and as soon as they do, I regret them.

They’re heartfelt, and they are not part of the routine we’re putting on for Ryan. And deep down those words feel actually feel quite true.

Even if he was a superstar, it wouldn’t change a thing of what I think of him.

I like him because he’s the guy who took care of me at the hospital and jokingly calls himself ‘my bitch,’ not because he’s got some incredible talent.

Well, I’d prefer his tongue stay as talented as it is, in this alternate scenario.

But I think, if he were some bouncer at a bar, I’d be just as attracted to him.

“Hey babe,” I hear his voice behind me, as he sneaks up and delivers a kiss to my neck.

“I’ll leave you two be,” Ryan says, seeing us, and gets up and heads off.

Luke replaces him across from me in the booth, reaches his hand out and lands it palm up.

“So how many weeks until you get your peg leg off, Pirate Petey?”

I roll my eyes. “About three weeks, depending on the progress with the x-ray,” I say.

“And will you be delicate after that?”

“It’s a bone, so, it’s either healed or it’s not. So no, I won’t be delicate. Why?”

He makes a come-hither motion, then looks around like he’s got a secret to tell. I turn my ear and he whispers into it.

“Because, once you get that off, I’m going to fuck you so hard, Cielo, you’re going to run home crying to your Daddy.”
