Micah switched to a picture of Danny. “Same here.” On the man’s chest was the same symbol.
“Where’d you find these?”
“Coroner’s reports.”
Right. “You think Ravage is gonna have trouble with the Delta Crosses?” Fuck, if that asshole led these fuckers here to stir up trouble, I’d dig him up and kill him again.
“Don’t know. If they’re smart, they’ll stay the fuck away from Ravage. We’ll need to put Cruz in the loop and let him decide how to deal.”
That was the way with family. Cruz was the president. The godfather of the family. There was no doubt in my mind that Cruz would blow up Chicago before allowing them to come down here and cause trouble.
“Nothin’ else? Maybe why the fuck he wanted to take over my life?” My tone was clipped as the anger started rolling through me.
“Growin’ up in the Delta Crosses couldn’t have been easy I’d guess. Somehow he found out about you and was pissed at the life you were granted. Can’t say it’d be somethin’ a sane person would do, but it appears to be the path he took.”
My head tipped up to the ceiling as I heaved in a breath. “Shit’s fucked up, man. A damn twin. Still can’t wrap my head around it. Of all the things in the world, that shit would’ve never been on my radar.”
“You ever look into your adoption?” he asked me as my head came back down, and I stared at my best friend.
“Can’t say I did. My folks never kept the fact I was adopted a secret. Never thought about contacting my biological parents. Had my folks and that was it. Now, I should’ve looked into that shit.”
“Don’t put that on your shoulders. That shit is over. Gotta focus on the here and now.”
“If the Delta Crosses come our way, then it’s not fuckin’ over.”
“Brother, let’s cross that bridge if or when we get to it?”
“Right.”
Katie’s laughter filled the kitchen as Remy led her into the kitchen.
“WyWy!” Remy yelled, letting go of Katie and coming directly to me. I turned in the chair to catch her easily. Fuck I loved this little girl.
As her arms wrapped around my neck and she squeezed me tight, I did the same.
“Hey there, bug.”
She pulled back, a wide smile across her face. “I’s spendin’ ime wit youz.”
“Oh, you are? Whatever will we do?” I teased as Katie came up behind me, putting her hands on my shoulders. I loved having her close to me. Fucking love that woman.
Two of the most important ones were with me in this moment.
“Twollz!!” Remy screamed.
“He’d look really good in the Bridget costume. I bet he can skate really good,” Katie said with laughter as I tilted my head up to look at her.
“You’re an evil woman.”
She peered down at me, nothing but love shining in her beautiful eyes. “Come on. The rainbow wig will look perfect on you.”
“I look hot in anything,” I teased.
“That is for sure.” She leaned down and pressed her lips to mine.
“Eww…” Remy said, giving us a disgusted look. “Iz ight herez.”
Micah stood and pulled his daughter from my arms. A low growl rumbled in my chest. “Fucker.”
Micah started laughing. “Don’t want my daughter seein’ too much from you two.”
“Right. Like you haven’t given her a birds and bees lesson every damn day in this house,” I retorted and pulled a laughing Katie down into my lap.
“And what are you laughing about?” My lips leaned down and took hers.
I loved the taste of her.
She pulled away. “I’ve gotta go see my sisters.”
“Right. What if I don’t wanna let you go?”
Her smile widened and brightened. “Never let me go.”
I leaned in to kiss her once more, and she pulled back. “But … you gotta let me see my sisters. They’re settling into their new place, but having a hard time adapting to the world. Ryker’s sisters are helping them, but their transition isn’t going well. Between them being scared the men from home will come and get them, to just going to the store or wearing clothes that don’t go down to their ankles, they’re a bit lost.”
“Sorry, Wild Kat.”
Her head shook. “I wish this was easier for them, but everyone is different and handles things their own way. I just want to be there to help them with whatever I can.”
“Ravage has them covered with protection,” I reassured her.
“Yeah. I know that and you know that, but they haven’t had anyone protect them their entire lives.”
“That’s not true.” Katie’s eyes narrowed at me. “You protected them in your own way at home. Knowing you and the woman you are, you tried your hardest to shield them.”
A tear formed in her eye. “You know I love you, right?”
My heart swelled. “And I fuckin’ love you, Wild Kat.”
Her lips met mine, and it took everything inside of me to let her go to her sisters instead of the bedroom.

TWO MONTHS LATER
“Close your eyes,” I told Katie who laughed at me.
“Why? What’s goin’ on?”
“It’s not gonna be a surprise if you see it.”
She continued to laugh as I put her in the passenger side of my truck and closed the door.
We’d been living with Micah and Ensley since everything had gone down. Katie didn’t want to go anywhere near her apartment, and my old place had sold.
We could’ve stayed at the clubhouse but chose this instead.
Turning on the truck, I pulled out of the drive, down the lane, and onto a dirt road. It was rough, but I had to put everything into high gear and the road was the last on the list. With some serious cake, it was close to being finished.
“You know me, bumping around and having my hands over my eyes is not working,” she groaned as we hit another bump.
I pulled her over and wrapped my arm around her, steadying her between the bumps.
The ride only took minutes. We were only going on the other side of Micah’s large property.
Coming to a stop, I turned off the engine. “Can you come out my side without openin’ your eyes?”
“I guess.”
She started to move clumsily which made me smile. Fuck, I loved this woman. I scooped her up in my arms with ease, pulled her out, and set her feet on the ground.
“Open your eyes,” I told her. Instead of looking at the sight in front of us, I watched my Katie.
She slowly opened her eyes, doing it in a cute way where she opened one hoping there wasn’t going to be a snake that jumped out and bit her.
But when she saw, both eyes flew open and her hand went over her mouth.
“Is this…”
“Ours,” I completed her sentence and wrapped her in my arms. “It’s a place of our own. Still close to family and the club, but private for us.”
In front of us stood a two-story five bedroom, six bath brand new home. The outside had a dark blue siding, and all the windows were trimmed in white. There was a wraparound porch that literally went all around the house.
