Dream Maker (Vegas Vipers #2)(45)
Author: Stacey Lynn

Last night, we’d stayed outside until the bugs turned into pesky nuisances and he’d ravished me until I was spent. He’d held my hands at my sides, barked out commands I followed on instinct. This felt different. His touch was slow and soft, barely skimming the line of my body.

“I want that, too.” I always wanted him. Everywhere. Any way I could get him.

His finger pressed inside, drawing out another raspy breath from me, and I settled my hand on his arm. Somewhere to hold him. Touch him. As he worked his finger slowly, my core heated, my body responded, rolling hips, seeking a deeper touch, trapped beneath his frame at my back.

His hard length sandwiched between us. I reached back, tried to find him but he moved out of the way.

“Uh-uh. You first.”

His wish. My command. He added another finger, included his thumb at my clit until I was panting, writhing, gripping the sheets in front of me and biting down on my pillow to stay silent.

All the while he murmured his praise, kissed my throat, until I was so close and he stopped.

“What—?”

“Gimme a second.” He kissed my shoulders, moved his body behind me and then his hands were at my hips, tugging down my underwear. I heard the crinkle of foil, the hitch of his breath as he rolled the condom down his length and he was back again.

“Yes,” I sighed as he lifted my hip, held me open. And then he slid inside.

“Jesus. You feel so damn good. All the time. I could spend the rest of my life inside of you and tasting you and never want for anything.”

The confession came too close to last night. Too close to my heart. I bit down harder on the pillow and whimpered as he adjusted the spot he hit inside of me.

“Please,” I begged. I begged him for harder. For faster. I begged him for more pressure and every time I did, he chuckled and told me to be patient.

“You’re beautiful,” he whispered. “You’re so sexy.”

“Joey—”

“You can do anything you want. I’m so lucky to be yours.”

My body was electrified. With every slow, deep thrust inside me, every brush of his fingers at my clit, he whispered more praise.

My mind scrambled, my body overheated.

I clung to the sheets like a lifeline as his words slid deep into my soul and his body drove me to the edge.

“You can do anything. Anything you set your mind to.”

“Oh God,” I groaned, that familiar flare of heat sparking in my core and spreading outward. I was no longer sure if I was going to orgasm from the way he saw me or how he played my body like a master.

I wanted him. This. Forever.

“I want you,” I pleaded, spreading my legs further apart, arching into him.

Right as the first wave crested, I turned to him, pressed my mouth to his, and I came, falling over the edge and yet feeling safer with the free will than I ever had in my life.

He loved me.

And I was certain that I’d fallen in love with the only man who I knew, no matter what, if I leaped before looking ever again… he’d always be there to catch me.

My wife was a goddamn sex goddess. Whether she was dressed in cutoff shorts and a crop top, in jogger sweats and faded sweatshirts with no makeup, or in summer dresses with her hair and makeup done that showed her professional talent, she could enter my line of sight and steal my breath and make my dick go hard before she blinked.

Seeing Gabby in a modest one-piece swimsuit, all black, that was so much less revealing than the bikinis she wore when she swam in my pool or relaxed in my hot tub, had to be one of the hottest experiences.

Probably didn’t help she grabbed men’s attention with every sway of her hips, with every thrust of her hands in the air as she flew down the sand dunes, laughing her ass off and screaming with glee while most of the other women there acted too scared to attempt. In a move I was no longer surprised by, as I stood at the bottom and watched her fly toward me, she had two kids chasing her down the dune on their sandboards, instantly drawing people to her.

Yeah. Gabby was stealing the show and I didn’t mind observing her constantly grab hold of a new adventure and live her life to the fullest.

She rushed to me at the bottom, gripping her board we’d rented at a shop before we reached the national park area where we were sledding. Her smile was more blinding than the sun, her happiness an almost tangible aura dancing around her and as she stumbled, climbing to her feet, laughing at herself, it hit me deep.

I loved this woman.

I didn't have the memory of proposing or coming up with the idea like Gabby had said, but I also didn’t care. I didn’t need to know what happened that night that made marrying her seem like a great idea.

I knew. Right then.

Her contagious laughter singing across the sand and into the air, her happiness, and every single thing I’d learned about her, I had no doubts. What we’d done hadn’t been a drunken mistake. It wasn’t a mistake at all.

It was destiny. Hers and mine.

Her smile wobbled. “What? What’s wrong?”

“Nothing.” I picked up her board and held the two of them in my own hand while grabbing her hand in my other. “Absolutely nothing is wrong.”

Everything was perfect.

I kissed her, a peck on her cheek to keep it family-friendly and we started hiking up to the top of the hill.

Tonight, I’d tell her. I’d tell her everything I was feeling. Everything I wanted to do for her and give to her.

Tonight I was going to lay all my chips on the table, take the biggest gamble, and hope like hell she felt the same. I was done with seeing her admit to liking me when it was so much more.

If she needed reassurance from me so she could be fully honest about what was going on between us, I’d spread my heart out for the world to see.

And I hoped like hell, she felt the exact same way as me.

We pulled up to the restaurant, two miles down from where we were staying in an Uber I’d ordered. I helped Gabby out of the car and we headed inside. The sun was already setting, the night coming fast. We probably could have walked but even my thighs ached from the countless trips we made up the sand dunes. We’d fallen asleep after returning from the sand dunes earlier and woken with barely enough time to make the reservation I’d requested online. A quick stop to the Portsmouth Inn and Haley gave me a few names of some of their favorite local restaurants.

Since Gabby loved all things carbs and pasta, we were eating at an Italian restaurant overlooking the lake. The night was cool enough for us to sit on their rooftop dining section and her eyes twinkled as the hostess led us to our table. Lights were strung crisscrossed all over the area, making it almost impossible to see the stars that would appear later. The news said a storm was rolling in but would hopefully be gone by the time we reached Torch Lake in a couple of days.

We had one more day to relax here, and even if it was raining, I wanted to spend it with Gabby beneath me, on top of me, relaxing next to me on the beach, and laughing that infectious laugh of hers until our stomach muscles ached.

I held out her chair for her, allowed the hostess to hand us our menus before declaring our server, Stephen, would be here momentarily, and I took my seat across from her. Our table had already been set with fresh lemon water and thin, crunchy breadsticks in a basket.
