We Wolf Rock You(29)
Author: Andie M. Long

When the waiter had poured us some champagne, Rex spoke. "I needed to explain myself and I hope the song went some way to doing that. I'm sorry I pushed you away, Freya. It's just I've had many women throw themselves at me and then when I can't commit to them, they turn nasty, and with your friendship with Erica…" He looked at me earnestly. "You couldn't be a quick fuck, Freya. I'm sorry."

"I understand. And I know I can be full on. I threw myself at you and basically didn't give you a chance to catch your breath."

"And that's what our groupies are like. So I'm afraid, at first, I just put you down as being like those. Thought you were simply after getting me into bed to say you slept with a Paranormal."

"That was my exact aim. But not a paranormal, you." I admitted.

"It seemed fate decided to turn everything on its arse when the bond hit. Then I was throwing myself at you." He laughed.

I laughed with him. This was good. We were talking. Not arguing. Not bossing each other about. It was a proper date.

He lifted his glass. "To possibilities." He said, and I chinked my glass with his.

We chatted throughout the meal about our families, the new business I was setting up, and how the band were getting on with recording their new album. The conversation flowed easily. I was enjoying his company. The real Rex sat in front of me, and he was fucking HOT.

By the time we were on dessert, not touching him was killing me.

But the night wasn't finished… I hoped.

Rex

So far, so good. I'd relaxed a bit now she was here in the restaurant. I still felt a little foolish about what was next on the agenda, but it wasn't for me. It was all for her.

"So is this meal the end of our date?" She asked. "Are you being a perfect gentleman?"

I grinned. She was plainly horny AF, but we'd given in to our carnal desires twice before. This time we weren't falling into bed through need alone. This evening had taken a lot of preparation and it wasn't over.

So next we went on the Thames. Being a millionaire had its benefits and being able to hire a boat solely for us and for the purpose of this date was one of them. We rode up and down the river enjoying the views and the ambience. When I had her positioned at the front of the boat, suddenly My Heart Will Go On, Celine Dion's iconic song from Titanic came out of the speakers.

"Please tell me you're not planning on this boat capsizing?" Freya laughed.

I moved in behind her, put my hands around her waist and told her to hold out her arms.

And then I leaned in and she leaned towards me and we kissed. Turning her in my arms I held her close and tried in my kiss to tell her everything that I felt.

We broke off.

"Freya." I said. "I know my being a wolf and saying you're my mate is scary, and wolves do rush headlong into things, but if you'll date me, I will try my best to take things slow."

"Okay." She said. "Let's see how this goes."

"Really?" I grinned like an idiot.

"Yeah, really." She said, and we kissed a whole lot more.

Freya

I was officially dating Rex Colton with a promise from him that he would go slow. Despite wolves immediately wanting to claim their mate, he'd agreed to slow things down for me. This date had been perfect, and I was excited for where things went in the future.

"So was this the last of our date?" I checked.

"No. There's one more thing."

"Oooh, which film is it from? Give me a clue." I said.

"As soon as we're back on dry land." Rex smiled. "Until then, I think we should do more of this." His lips brushed against mine. "Only I think we've seen the views on the way out, we don't need to look again on the way back, do we?"

I had to agree with him.

After a quick bathroom break, we departed onto the riverbank. Rex was carrying a large bag but wouldn't explain what was in it.

"So the final movie is Dirty Dancing." He said.

The iconic scene from the movie played across my mind's eye. I imagined jumping into Rex's strong arms, him holding me aloft while the passers-by watched enviously wishing it was them.

And then he went into the bag and brought out a watermelon.

He walked towards me. "I'm guessing you thought of a different scene?" He smirked.

"Yup, 'I carried a watermelon' was not the one I'd plumped for, but—" I stopped in midsentence as suddenly my body became overwhelmed in sensation. For a moment I couldn't breathe, and then I found myself staring at Rex. It was as if my eyes were committing every cell of his to my memory. His scent hit my nostrils: smoky, heady, virile, MINE! I couldn't look away from him, overwhelmed by his presence at this moment in time. My heart palpitated wildly.

"Freya? Freya, are you okay?" Rex took a step closer to me and that broke the staring spell I appeared to be under.

"You're my mate." I screamed out.

"Pardon. What did you just say?"

It might have been more romantic had he not got a watermelon in his hands, but it was our moment and we'd remember it for the rest of our lives.

"Rex, it's happened. You're my mate." I yelled again, my voice full of utter joy, as my mind and body rejoiced over the fact that my forever was right in front of me.

He dropped the watermelon to the ground as I ran at him. Then he spun me around and kissed me over and over.

"Promise me you're speaking the truth. Can you really feel it?"

"I can feel the bond, Rex, and…" I pushed my pelvis up against him, "something else." I stared up into his eyes. "Take me home." I said.

"To your parents' house, do you mean?" He waited for my reply with baited breath.

"No." I shook my head. "I mean to our home, mate."

Rex

I could never have foreseen how the night would end, but as we ran back to Miles and the car and told him that we were happily mated and ready to go back to our home, I was bursting with joy. All seemed right in the world. I swear Miles shed a little tear and I knew Cath would.

But I only had eyes for my mate and the minute we were through the front door, I picked her up, took her to my bedroom and claimed her several times over.

No recording took place the following day. Not in the music studio anyway…

July 5th…

"Are you sure about this, Freya. Because it's only been a few weeks."

"Rex. If you ask me one more time, I'm going bop you on the nose. Are we, or are we not fated mates who will be together forever?"

"Yes, we are."

"So there's no point waiting any longer to bite me and make me your wolf wife, is there?"

"But we can wait."

"I don't want to wait, unless… you do?"

"Hell, no. I want to unleash my other beast on you." I winked.

She laughed, but it was all husky and dirrrttyy.

"So it's me, you, and the full moon. What happens exactly?"

"I chase you, you run. I catch you, we make love. I bite you, you become a wolf. We fuck like animals because we will be animals, and then you're my true mate, forever more."
