“I thought you said there was a meeting?”
“There is always a meeting, but I need to spend some quality time with my wife.” He had told her as he nipped at her flesh gently.
“Do you think we will ever grow out of this?” she had asked as she combed restless fingers through his thick blonde hair.
“I know that I never will.” By this time he was making little love bites out of the bare flesh of her sex. He had shaved her just two nights ago and had ended up driving himself inside her before he was even finished.
“You are a man so that is the expected answer.” She had moaned as he licked at her swollen flesh.
“Maybe,”
She closed her eyes as she recalled his tongue entering her slowly, the tip of it exploring her and driving her to ecstasy. The phone jangled and she jumped, shocking her out of her erotic thoughts. With a shaky laugh, she went to get it, seeing that it was Jeff.
“I was planning on calling you ….!”
“You bitch! I thought we were friends. You are married and to Alan McGregor?”
She closed her eyes as she reached for her robe to put on. “Mom. I swore her to secrecy.”
“She is a better friend than you are. She told me everything. Darling, what are you going to do?”
“About what?”
“About his racists parents obviously!”
“Nothing!! He is going to tell them soon and then when the shit hits the fan, we will go on from there.”
“Not to mention when the press gets hold of it. Honey, your life is not going to be the same.”
“Thanks for ruining my day.”
“That’s what I am here for. You met him that night at your party.”
“Yes.”
“And you slept with him that very night? You secretive bitch! No wonder you told me that you were leaving so early.”
“Now that you are all up in my business and is all caught up, let’s talk about you and your supposed girlfriend. Is that still going on?”
“Oh no! We are still on you and I want to invite you to lunch and get all the juicy details. I am free this afternoon. How about you?”
“I suppose I am.”
“Maxim’s at noon and please don’t be late. I want to hear everything from the moment you met him until now. And I insist.”
“You are so gay no matter what you say.” Athena said dryly.
“You might be right, but I am still with her. She has accepted me for who I am, a confused human being and I love that about her. OMG Athena! You are married.”
“OMG?” She scoffed. “What are you? Fifteen?”
“Love you. See you soon.”
Chapter 14
Mike straightened up as soon as the woman came through the revolving doors, his camera ready. He was parked across the street but at a safe distance to avoid detection. His shaggy eyebrows lifted when he saw her, and a slow smile lifted his lips. Daniel McGregor was going to have fit when he got hold of the photos. He did not have to do research because he already knew who she was. Athena Blakely, the model who was the face of Self-Absorbed. His wife and twenty-one-year-old daughter used the creams religiously and swore by them. He zoomed in to get a close up of her and had to admire the flawless dark skin and the exquisite face. She was wearing an aquamarine sweater dress that hugged her slender curves and black knee length boots with heels. He snapped the photos until she had gotten inside her car and took a pic of the license plate as well. He hunkered down in his seat, but he might as not have bothered because the woman had her eyes straight ahead. He waited until the car had gone before making the call.
“I have the photos, but you already know her.”
“Bring them to me.”
“Right boss.”
Mike sat there and stared at the photos. He would swing by his place and get them processed before going to the office. He had a lab at his place to ensure privacy. He did confidential work for McGregor Enterprises and was highly compensated. The money he earned at the company doing what he did; had paid for his daughter’s education and paid off for his suburban house. He was very loyal to the family and kept what he knew about them close to his chest. He also knew that Daniel McGregor was not going to be pleased with what he was about to hear.

Daniel leafed through the photos, his face wiped clean of all expressions as he studied them. He had suspected as much but never dreamed that she would be the woman he had seen so many times on the television screen. The advertising agency that hired her was owned by them and that was something he could use. His wife used the products that she advertised, and he could see the irony in that.
“Did you get to find out anything else?”
“Just did a quick research on my way here. She is an only child and her mother, Debra Blakely owns and operates an antique store in midtown. Her father passed away when she was a little girl, so it was just the two of them.”
“Anything else?”
“Like I said, it was just a surface research. I will dig deeper when I leave here.”
“Thanks Mike. You may see yourself out.”
Mike got to his feet and nodded. “How soon do you want the info?”
“Yesterday!” Daniel told him grimly.
“I will get to it immediately.”
Daniel waited until the man had left and closed the doors behind him before he sifted through the photos again. The camera was of the highest quality and the zoom lenses amazing. It showed every facet of her face and the flawless dark skin. She was truly a beautiful woman and he could see why his son was captivated. A quick roll in the hay or maybe set her up someplace as a mistress was acceptable but he was living with her! He dialed his wife’s number.
“I am in the middle of a meeting with the hospital representatives….”
“Take a minute.”
“Let me go somewhere quiet.”
He waited while she did that, tapping his fingers against the polished wood of his desk.
“I am in a waiting room. What is it?”
“It’s Athena Blakely.”
