His Obsession(40)
Author: Rose Marie

“Where are we going? And why can’t we go see any doctors?”

“Shhh, baby save your strength. I promise it’s safe we just have special circumstances that we have to deal with.” Trying to sit up, he pushes me back down in his lap and I move his hand away.

“What kind of special circumstances and how would the person on the phone know that? It’s my baby too Channing you better open your mouth and say something before I really get pissed.”

“Angel, do you really think I would put you and our baby’s life in jeopardy? Without you I am nothing. I know I haven’t been the most trustworthy man you know but please trust me when I say that I have nothing but you and our baby’s best interest at heart. I’m asking you to trust me, please.”

Tired of second guessing every damn thing he does, I sit back and close my eyes. If he wants trust that’s something he’s going to have to earn. I wouldn’t be having so many damn trust issues if he never broke it in the first place. I do know one thing though; he loves me, and he cares for the baby, so I’ll back off. He’s doing what’s best for us. But the moment something seems fishy I’m opening my mouth.

~*~

I said that I’d say something but here I am closed mouth and looking around like an idiot. The moment we landed there were two men waiting for us with a whole entourage. They hurried us to an ambulance where I was hooked up to machine to monitor me and driven to a facility that looked like something the government built. Everything felt so out of my tax bracket that I was too flabbergasted to ask questions.

Sitting among nothing but white males talking amongst themselves I was starting to feel annoyed because no one was talking to me until a black girl poked her head in and looked around. When she spotted me, she smiled and came in running over to me.

“Heyyyy! Are you going to be the one who’s staying with us?” I turn to Channing and the guys, walk over to the tall girl and grab her by the hips. One on each side. Getting a good look at them I see they’re twins.

“We’re sorry for not introducing ourselves. We were just so busy trying to make sure you and the pups were safe.” The one on the right bowed his head to me. “I’m Teagan.” The one of the left raised his hand.

“I’m Zane and this is our Mate and wife Unity.” Our? She elbowed them in the sides and walked over to me.

“Excuse them. They’ve been around a long time and don’t know how to properly do things. You probably don’t know what’s going on, do you?” Shaking my head, she makes a face at them and shrugged on a lab coat. “Okay allow me to help clear things up. My name is Unity Walker, doctor and Luna of the Blood Rose Wolf Pack. I know you’re more than a little confused but what I want you to do is understand that you and your baby are fine from the reading and scans my husbands have done.

Second, I want you to take a deep breath for me because sweety I’m about to unpack a whole lot of crazy on you. I wish I could have explained everything to you before all of this but that’s not the case and we just to roll with what Rose throws at us.” I swallow nodding, liking the fact that I’m finally being spoken to properly.

“Okay now that that’s out of the way and we understand that we need an open mind I’m about to hook you up so I can get an ultrasound and we can go from there.” She did exactly that with Channing sitting there holding my hand, unwilling to stray from my side even for a second. As she warns me about the cold gel, I sit there wondering if she’ll even be able to see anything. That is until big as day in front of me, two clear images form on the big screen with heart beats.

“Awww how sweet, I see twins run in the family huh? Congratulations.” Shocked and overwhelmed I shake my head at how well developed my babies are until she moves the ultrasound device up and my heart drops. “Yup, the proof is in the pudding, we have full fledge pups and not unchangings.” My mouth dropped as the two twins cheered, but I for the life of me didn’t know what the hell they were cheering for. When she was done, she discarded her gloves and sat back down, handing me the pictures that the nurse brought in.

“Alright now I know you are probably not only confused as hell but shocked at everything you just saw. Well that is where we unfortunately have to get in the not so fun part about explaining to you that your husband is part werewolf and he holds both a dominant and recessive gene for being able to transform into a wolf like my husbands.” She moved over and right before my eyes I see her husbands turns into big ass wolves. One was black and one was white, and they were so big, she suddenly only came to their waists, and she was at least six feet tall.

“Okay, you can turn back now.” Again, they turn back, hiding their junk which because their clothes ripped during their unbelievable transformation. I shakenly turn to Channing.

“Can you do that?”

“No, I’m what they call an unchanging. I don’t have the ability to change form, but I do have a ‘wolf’ in me, and he was awakened by you, my soulmate.”

“Soulmate?”

“We’ll get into that in a bit. What’s important is you knowing that with the fact that your children are wolves with the ability to change, your gestation will be considerably shorter than a normal pregnancy.

“H-how short are we t-talking?” She pats my hand and smiled.

“At the longest we are pregnant about two and a half months. In your case you are already more than halfway there. You only have about a month, maybe three weeks until you are due.” Blinking rapidly, I look between her and Channing to her two frigging husbands trying to gather if I was being played, but they all serious. Way too serious.

“But…you…no.” Channing looked up stood up and dropped to one knee and pulled out a ring.

“I wanted to do this on an island somewhere with just you, after we’d talked and settled our differences, but I see we don’t have time for that. I know from the moment I walked into your life I’ve cause you to feel more bad emotions than good and believe me I hate myself for it, but I want you to know it’s the opposite for me. You have given me the life I’ve always wanted and now the family I never Knew I could have, and so soon! You have been so selfless in your love for me and even now you are accepting of something most people would run kicking and screaming from.”

He’s right…but when you’ve grown up seeing your brother talk to ghosts and saying he see fairies and a black mother who never discouraged his behavior, you believe in anything. I’d been believing in the supernatural for a long time, I’d just never seen or experienced them before. I’m not going to bother discrediting things that happening are right before my eyes.

“Please allow me to prove myself to you. Allow me the honor of being your soulmate, your husband, and I promise I’ll cherish you for the rest of my life.” Even though this is all too sudden and this is basically Channing putting on airs, I appreciate him for even feeling the need to do this much.

“Can I get up?” I ask Unity and she with tears in her eyes nods and help me out of the bed. Walking up to Channing I bend down in front of him and cup his face.

“Never lie to me again.”

“Okay.”

“Stop putting cameras on me.”
