I dream of Irina every night now. My mind is consumed by thoughts of her gorgeous innocent body. Irina this is not mine. She's supposed to be trained by now. She belongs to the man I work for. The man that holds my destiny and others in his hands.

Sergei is asking questions, he wants her ready and asks me what is taking so long?

He questions me daily if I have trained her yet to be the perfect wife or shall we say mistress of his house?

The truth is I was working on it. I am working on making her mine.

"Lars Sergei wants to see you in his office right now,” Blake announced over my device.

I clench my fist, take in deep breath and exhale.

The truth is, I know what he wants but honestly I am not willing to give him what he desires. I want her all the way. I know it was insane. I mean it is a couple of days the wedding.

The event is already getting setup but he still hasn't gotten a opportunity to have her in his bed. He likes to test before the wedding. But I can’t honestly imagine that happing at least not yet.

I honestly wished her father had not accepted at that dreadful party which by all accounts should not have happened. He does not deserve her. Why can’t he go for the women who throw themselves at his feet and leave an innocent pure damsel alone?

Irina

“Sweetie, Relax and enjoy yourself, be prepared for a big announcement sweetheart. Your life as you knew it is over, Princess”

My father’s grim firm dark voice registered in my mind like a ton of bricks dropped on my brain.

I took in a deep breath and exhaled. “Don’t mess this up,” I murmur to myself. Then I did my best to relax, even though it seemed impossible to do so.

I scanned the room staring at the revelers. I bit my lower lip and stared down at the floor. My legs felt like jelly, I noticed well dressed men and women walking in and out the room. Some looked our way and smiled at my father. Did they know something?

Fear and concern flashed through my mind.

I thought father must be in trouble, he must have a reason for our presence at this event. On the surface it looked like any luxurious celebration, Opulent and decadent.

But make no mistake, this was no ordinary party.

Father was up to something. I just knew it.

I stared up at him. My father towered over me. He was 6ft tall and I was 5 ft 2. I looked up to him. Tonight however, I was not sure what I felt. I sensed some apprehension from him.

What was I doing here? Why am I here? His face looked pensive. Is he here to do something that would change my life forever?

Why is he so nervous?

He is never this anxious. Has he gotten into trouble again? Would it affect our family?

After all, he is one of the top members of the brotherhood. You see we live in Los Angeles. Now before you say lucky you, just know it is not all it seems to be. I have never visited the tourist sites, the Chinese theater, Hollywood none of that. No my life has not been a fairy tale. My entire life consisted of being cooped up in a large home with very little light filtering into the house.

I swallowed and whispered underneath my breath, “Try to enjoy yourself Irina, this is one of the rare times father has taken you to an event. I sighed and looked back up.

Then I stared at the men and women dancing. From all accounts, they seemed to be having a good time at this strange decadent party. The room was well decorated with trimmings only a billionaire could afford.

I knew this was no ordinary event. It was a place that held deep dark secrets. A lady walked up holding a food tray in her hand, she offered me a bite.

I turned towards my father wondering whether to accept the food or not. I expected my father to scold me but he did not instead he smiled dryly.

He said, “Go ahead princess eat, don’t act like you were not raised in luxury.”

I swallowed.

I knew my father’s sarcastic tone was a dig. But I decided it was pointless to question my father’s wishes.

No point doing that.

I accept the food from the server who simply forced a dry smile. She stared into my eyes for a moment.

The sadness in her eyes spoke volumes as though she felt sorry for me or something.

I thought maybe I am just imagining things, she cannot possibly be thinking that way, after all she does not know me. But then maybe she is?

My father’s voice jolts me back to reality.

“Please whatever you do, princess, do not embarrass our family.”

I took in a deep breath and exhaled. I felt as though the weight of pleasing the family was on me. I don’t understand it, why now? What brought about the change?

The truth is, under normal circumstances father never called me princess unless he wanted something.Or simply out in public when he wanted a favor from the big boss.

I have been always been a pawn for my father and his games.

He had a bad gambling addiction that seemed to take over his entire life for the most part.

He kept me at home.

No friends or anything. He gave orders to my mother warning her that if I were to lose my virginity at anytime she would pay the price. Talk about pressure. I sighed.

I really should relax. I am so nervous in this environment. I want to leave but I know that is not going to happen.

I turn and notice the sweat beads running down my

It is what my father would want, but I couldn’t stay still. What did he mean? it is finally happening?

“Your life is about to change. So be prepared. I know you don’t have much to offer. But you have to at the very least act like you are happy to be here. A major announcement will soon be made on your behalf. You have to do this for the family. You have no choice, princess.”

My father’s words felt like sharp knives stabbing daggers into my heart.

I knew something major was about to happen, but I couldn’t not place my hand on it. I knew it was only a matter of time.

I glanced around once more and scanned the room.

On the surface, it looked like any other party only the rich could muster, but underneath the pomp and pageantry was something darker, something sinister.

A show of ill gotten wealth which no one dare question.

The leader Sergei Dimitri mingled with the guests. He was arguably one of the richest men in the world. Even though his wealth was from his evil ways, no one dared speak up against him.

Father never takes me to events such as this.

So I began wondering:

Why are we here?

He never lets me out of the house, let alone to some party. So why now? Why did he insist I go with him alone to this event? Why now?

What could he be up to?

I was even more surprised, when he ordered I put on a white dress one that my mother had mentioned would be for my engagement.

This cannot be the day right, is father going to marry me off to some man here? Oh no, please tell me this is not what he has planned. I whispered underneath my breath, “Surely hew would have mentioned it prior to our leaving home?”

I turn around to notice some men exchanging words while the dolled up women next to then say nothing.

The men ordered them around, they were much older than their companions.

I thought how sad it must be knowing your future spouse got decided from your birth? I was not allowed to date. I am certain the women next to these men probably had no choice in the men the ended up marrying.
