Shattered Souls(93)
Author: B C Morgan

I work the buckle, as he flicks the button and pulls the zipper down. Teamwork for the win. He holds my face in between his hands, his thumbs stroking across my skin, making me ache.

He pulls back, breaking the kiss, our eyes don’t stray as he kneels on the bed, I shift back until I’m falling down sideways on the bed. He comes down over me, his arms framing my head, as I line him up. I move him between my folds, drawing out the pleasure that I know we’re going to bring one another.

Not for the first time, I question how this even started. How a silly crush on an asshole can turn into something so beautifully sweet, it makes me want to cry.

He slowly sinks into me, my head falls back, as a moan falls free. He moves slowly, pulling out, before sliding all the way back in once more. He doesn’t try to hurry, preferring to draw this moment out for as long as he can. He drops his head down to mine, the side of his nose grazing mine. I close my eyes, as he traces my lips with the pad of his finger.

“Look at me, Luna. Don’t stop looking at me.” His voice is a heady mix, as I open my eyes and fall apart beneath him, losing myself in his eyes.

He follows not long after, a low moan escapes as he utters my name, and drops his head down next to mine. I hold him to me for a few moments. enjoying this moment, knowing that everything has a time limit. The moment it begins, the timer has already begun. We just never know how much time this life will give us.

I meet D outside the mess hall and we head outside. “What do you think? Want to go to the maze?” She eyes it as though it houses the devil, and I’m not sure what answer she wants me to give.

“Bradley’s gone, I guess we’ve got nothing left to fear.” I eyeball it as well, and we set off for the garden instead.

“We have to stop being afraid sooner or later, right? We can’t always tuck tail and run because a place holds a bad memory.” She plays with the bottom of her braid, and I wind my arm around her waist.

“It went on for longer than I’m sure anyone thought it would, believe me, I don’t think it will ever truly go. But yeah, we can’t blame the maze for what he did. Have you been swimming since… you know?”

“Only with Jake. I still don’t feel safe. I know it’s stupid, but I still can’t believe it was all him. I’m certain that he must have had help, and I’m not talking about that bitch Twenty. Seriously, I can’t shake it. I feel like I’m being paranoid, and I hate that he’s done this to me.” She lets out a frustrated groan, as she pulls leaves off one of the topiaries.

“I’m here, D. I’ll always be here. Whatever you need, and if you think there’s still a possibility that we’re not safe, then we’ll be careful. I’m not going to let anything happen to you.” She spins and narrows her eyes at me, before jabbing her finger in my chest. Ouch.

“It’s not me I’m worried about, Homegirl, it’s you. They only came after me once. That’s nothing compared to you. Look after yourself. It’s bad enough they got rid of the guards.” She scowls at the ground. My face falls as I think of Darius.

I didn’t even get to say goodbye, I just woke up one day and he was gone. It hurt, but I know he couldn’t come into my room to tell me. I just wish it wasn’t so sudden. I’ve never really had the chance to explore the way I feel for him, other than knowing he’s my knight in a place full of villains, girls and guys alike.

“So, tell me about Thallon.” She nudges me with her shoulder, as my face turns scarlet, just thinking of last night.

“He hasn’t changed, but it’s okay. I’m getting used to it.” I keep walking, so she can’t get a good look at me.

“Ahh, crap. Yeah, don’t tell me. But I’ll tell you about mine.” She smiles, as we turn the corner and come face to face with One, Six, Nine, and Ten.

“Guess we were wrong about you. Not every guy wants pale pussy after all.” One snickers, and the rest follow suit.

“Back off, harpy, jealousy is not a pretty color on you,” D throws back, flicking her braid over her shoulder, with a smirk.

She has so much confidence again, now that she’s with Jake. She’s able to help Maddie and be with the guy she wants. I’m glad things are working out for her, she deserves it.

“Says you. Although, I do wonder, do you put on a strap on at night and give it to Maddox good? Does he make you play the guy when you role play?”

“You don’t know shit, One. Now, shut your mouth before I shut it for you. Fucking bitch.” D pushes her back, but the girls swarm around, to stop her from falling.

“Keep your filthy whore hands off me. First a murderer, now a queer. Yeah, you’re really going places,” she sneers, right up until the point where I shove the heel of my hand into her nose.

She lets out a blood curdling scream as blood pours free, but I don’t stop there. Going in for her stomach, and then her jaw. The girls don’t do shit, they just watch in horror, before they run off, as she cries and howls like the bitch she is.

“If I ever hear you speaking about Maddox like that again, I won’t stop at a broken nose.” I spin around and stalk away.

D runs after me, her mouth hanging open, as Miss Lucien comes out of the front doors, and although, I’m in trouble, I don’t regret what I did. I’d do it again for anyone that I care about.

I’m sorry, mom. I came here to help your debt, not add to it. With only four months left to go, what a time to be kicked out. Guess I couldn't stay out of the way and keep my fists to myself even if I tried.

I’m marched into the office, as she calls for Thallon and Emmet. I guess Thallon because I’m his property. I fucking hate it, but it’s true. I don’t know why she’s calling Emmet though.

“What do you have to say for yourself, Two?” She’s like a stone statue, I’ve never seen her crack a smile, or even a frown. I doubt she’s even human.

“I think I-I w-w-old prefer t-t-to wait for the guys.” I fold my hands in my lap and cross my legs.

“Fine, hide behind the men. They’ll be here soon enough.” Her lips purse slightly, as the door slams open and ricochets off the wall.

“What has she done now?” Thallon stares down at me, his top lip curling, as he looks me over with unbridled disgust.

Emmet is right behind him, and I know he isn’t far away from clocking him in the side of the head. Careful, Thallon, you’re in the firing line as far as the devil is concerned.

“What is the meaning of this, Lucian? why am I being called in?” Emmet sounds bored, but the tightness around his eyes, and the throbbing vein in his neck say otherwise.

“She attacked One. Unprovoked, according to three witnesses. She jumped her in the gardens, and she has now been taken to the medical center. She certainly didn’t fall.” Her eyes glance over them, before settling on me.

I stare at the desk, the way each pen is lined up perfectly. There even seems to be some kind of order to how it is done. They sit in line with the paper on her desk, which, in turn, lines up with the top of the keyboard on her computer. I think she may have a touch of OCD going on, not that I’m judging her. We all have our quirks, it isn’t a weakness. Just a layer of the person she is.
