“Hello Mrs Bennet, I’m Luci it is a pleasure to meet you.” I stick my hand out and to be fair to her, she accepts it. The wide grin that spreads across her face doesn’t go un-noticed by me.
“Well I’ll be dammed, Kenni you did good son, real good. I just love that accent of yours darlin, I’ve never met anyone English before.” She is still holding my hand but she decides this is too formal so uses the leverage of my hand to pull me in for a hug.
“She’s great, isn’t she? Come on let’s get you settled inside.” Taking me by the hand again he leads me into the house, it must be around tea time because the smells coming from the kitchen are incredible.
“You two go on up to your room and get freshened up, dinner won’t be long.” Heading up the stairs I am in awe of the sheer size of the house. Kenni leads me into what I assume is his bedroom, closing the door, he basically pounces on me.
He lifts my dress up over my head and makes quick work of removing my bra and knickers, he leaves my sandals on though. Running his finger along my privates he must decide I am wet enough because he just lowers his trousers, picks me up and lowers me on to him.

Heading down to dinner, I can hear a few more voices in the house this time, some of the conversation sounds heated, but maybe I am over thinking things. Walking into the dining room I am instantly greeted by men, lots of men. Well about 10 to be precise, mainly all around Kenni’s age, a couple of them are older, one of them is very clearly his dad though. Whistling Kenni grabs all of their attention.
“I would like to introduce y’all to Luci, who is visiting as my guest for a few days, I hope y’all make her feel welcome here.” I wasn’t prepared for this many people and know I am blushing bright red, the men all go quiet and all of them stare at me, I decide to be brave and break the ice.
“Hi all, I’m Luci, I’m here on holiday from England, thank you for opening your home to me.” Kenni tightens his grip on me and they are all still staring at me. I feel very subconscious at this moment in time.
“Have you got any sisters? That’s all I want to know.” I can’t help the snort of laughter that comes out of me before replying, the man who asked is definitely a cheeky chap.
“Yes, actually I do, I have one younger sister, still in England though I’m afraid.” He smiles wildly at me and then winks.
“Jed, don’t be a dick and stop winking at her.” All the men seem to find this funny. Kenny individually introduces me to everyone, Jed it turns out, is his cousin, and the other men are ranch hands. His dad seems a little standoffish with me, but is polite enough. We sit down to a mini feast, I sit next to Kenni’s mum who quizzes me the whole way through dinner.
“So Luci what do you do for a job?” Kenni’s mum asks me. I feel every set of eyes in the room on me.
“Well I’ve just finished university and I am starting a teaching job in September, I teach secondary school English, I guess you call it high school here.” This seems to get her attention.
“Can you teach that in America darlin?” She asks and I know where she is going with this because I have been asked this question before.
“Yes, I can teach anywhere in the world technically, English is taught a little differently over here though, but I could adapt if I had to.” She takes in what I said but doesn’t reply and everyone continues to eat.
Everyone seems to hang around at the table and the conversations are flowing, the main topic of conversation seems to be the ranch, most of it goes over my head, but it’s interesting for me to see how passionate Kenni is, you can clearly tell it’s in his blood. I gather from listening in that they keep cattle and horses on this ranch.
Kenni’s mum raises from her chair and begins to clear away, I get up and help her take the dirty plates to the kitchen, most of it goes into the dishwasher but some is hand washed, I get stuck in and wash the things in the sink.
“I could have a cook if I wanted but I prefer doing this for myself, I like looking after my family. I’m glad you’re here Luci, you seem to make him happy and I haven’t heard him that excited about the ranch in a very long time.” She shocks me by pulling me in for a hug, I feel a little awkward, so I smile at her and head back to the dining room where Kenni is still deep in conversation.
He looks up at me when I come back in and I see a flash of affection across his eyes. Standing up Kenni looks down at me.
“Come on darlin, let’s go for a walk.” We excuse ourselves and head outside, dusk is beginning to set in and it’s a warm evening.
We walk hand in hand as he shows me a little of the ranch. I see some horses that are grazing near to the main house and some of the barns.
Looking up at the sky I can see some stars coming out and I laugh a little at how romantic it feels, probably out of nervousness. I need to ask Kenni about the duration of my visit and decide to bite the bullet and go for it.
“Kenni how long am I here for?” He sucks in a breath and then loudly releases it and I know instantly he’s been dreading me asking this question. Taking a few seconds he eventually answers me.
“You are welcome to stay as long as you want. I say we take this day by day, when is your return flight?” I stop walking to look into his beautiful eyes.
